Reviews often highlight steady communication during construction, including frequent photo updates and responsive project managers. Many buyers note smooth scheduling and workmanship that met their expectations. A smaller number of reviews describe concerns about contract terms, pricing changes, and refund policies. Overall ratings trend positive but mention the importance of clarity on pricing and timelines.
Ence knows how to build quality homes in record time, keeping the buyer in the loop all the way through the process. They send pictures each week to let the buyer see and feel the home even if we are far away. Communication is great with access to the project manager as well as others in Ence who can answer questions and give advice. We give Ence 5 stars.
BEWAREMy purchase with Ence Homes was contingent on selling my current home within the contract timeline. I paid $25,785 total:$10,000 earnest money deposit (at contract execution)$15,785 paid at the design/selection appointment for upgradesTotal: $25,785When my home did not sell within the required timeframe, I could not move forward. By the time the home was completed, I was pressured (verbally and via text) to cancel, and I was told I needed to list my Ence home or Ence would begin assessing financial penalties/charges. I was also told that the sooner they could list the Ence home, the more money I might recoup from my deposit, and that I would likely receive some money back once it sold. The home was listed and later sold. When I followed up about the refund that was discussed, communication changed and I was told the funds were non-refundable. I did not receive any refund and Ence kept the full $25,785.In my personal opinion, the outcome felt unfair given that the home was resold after I canceled. I’m sharing this so future buyers understand the risk up front. My advice: do not rely on verbal assurances or texts. If a refund is mentioned, get a written agreement stating the amount, timing, and conditions. Also ask for written terms on what is refundable if you cancel and what documentation you will receive. Please do your homework before signing with Ence: ask other buyers, ask independent realtors about their experiences, and get every promised in writing.
Our experience with our Ence team was absolutely amazing. We would refer to them as our builder's dream team. Our dream team, Jen and Jared, who communicated every step of the building process with us via text messages and pictures which we highly appreciated. We can't say enough about Tyler Beck, our project manager, who made building our dream home a smooth process with no delays. Tyler Beck is a professional and excellent in managing his crew and subcontractors to meet deadlines.WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR NEW ENCE HOME !!
I continue to be impressed with the quality of the construction. I was a frequent visitor to the site during the construction. It was high quality all along the way. Ence staff were easy to work with and very responsive to our questions and needs. They were quick to address any concerns. The staff also kept us informed of the progress all along the way. This is our fourth home build and by far the smoothest we have had. I highly recommend Ence Homes as I know you will get a high quality home in the end.
Buyer beware. We recently built a home with Ence, and unfortunately our experience was disappointing. Before signing our purchase agreement, we specifically asked about the risk of future price reductions and were assured by the sales team that prices would not go down. Relying on that representation, we moved forward. Shortly after signing, Ence reduced pricing on our same house by $40,000 but declined to fully honor that reduction for us, resulting in a significant financial loss.In our opinion, the purchase agreements are extremely one-sided. For example, Ence retains the sole right to cancel the contract at any time prior to closing for any reason, while the buyer does not have comparable protections once deposits are paid. That imbalance creates substantial risk for buyers. Most of the employees we interacted with were professional and pleasant, and communication was generally good. However, based on our experience, ownership prioritized financial outcomes over honoring commitments and their customers. From our experience, it seems like sales will say anything to “close the deal”, but Ence’s owners will not necessary honor what sales says. We wish we had understood these risks more clearly before signing and hope this review helps future buyers ask the right questions and proceed cautiously.
