Disappointing Experience with Tilson HomesI had high hopes of working with Tilson Homes, but my experience was far from satisfactory. We didn’t even get past the sales portion as our sales consultant, Tynan Winegarden, provided ZERO communication past our initial visit. He was totally unresponsive and failed to communicate effectively. We identified potential land and properties to continue the project but were ignored and discarded, leaving us frustrated and disappointed. I expected better service and support, especially when making such a significant investment. Having navigated the home building process on two separate occasions, I can confirm that effective and transparent communication is not merely important, but essential throughout this journey. The apparent neglect shown, coupled with their failure to maintain contact or provide updates regarding the materials we submitted, was unacceptable.I would not recommend Tilson Homes based on my experience.
DO NOT BUILD WITH TILSON. FIND A LOCAL CONTRACTOR THAT CARES ABOUT THEIR WORK!!!! I had issues from the begging starting with the home sales representative. Firstly one had helped us decide on a home and we ere waiting to move forward she had quit and we did not receive a notification. During this time the prices of homes were increased and we had to start over with a new representative. Once we had signed a contract to start the build Tilson was constantly rescheduling apts. Then our representative went on leave for 2 months and no one was helping move our build along. After she retured from leave she moved away and we were moved with another 2 people who helped each other and didnt communicate with each other effectively. In total we had 4 and 2 price increases. One our house as build we have had flooding g issues in the front of our home. Followed Tilson suggestions to remedy to problem but Tilson has not done anything to fix the flooding!!!One they got paid and received check for their home they washed their hands and have not fixed a huge issue!!!!This company does not deserve to build homes
Tilson is the best builder in the DFW area. This is our third home we’ve built since 2012. All three were different builders. We took custom plans to Tilson. They finished them up free of charge. Locked our price in and kept their word. They built the house for the agreed upon price. You get a lot for your money with Tilson. When we were told the cabinet knobs were included I was shocked. Even spray foam. My favorite thing about Tilson was their customer service. I’m very picky and expect things to be done to perfection. Our builder Gabe fixed or did again anything I didn’t like without hesitation only we want you to be happy with it. No other builder would do this. Tilson is amazing. Our house is finished now. No other builder in this area can touch Tilson on price or quality for what you get. For the small amount we paid and the amount of house we received I don’t know how Tilson was able to make any profit off this build. The best thing about Tilson is you don’t need a construction loan. They build the house using their own money. You pay no interest to a bank on drawn money. You only pay for one closing saving you thousands of dollars. I’m very grateful for Tilson and only wish our last two houses were built by them. You can’t go wrong using them. The materials are top of the line and so are Tilson employees. Our builder Gabe was amazing. Tilson is very lucky to have him.
We met Brandi almost a year ago when we stopped into the Midlothian sales office without an appointment. She spent almost 3 hours with us finding out what we wanted for our retirement home and showing us a house plan we could modify to fit our needs. She was so sweet, patient and had great ideas. We ended up signing with Tilson - partly because of the quality of their homes and partly because of Brandi! We are getting ready to start the foundation and the process of getting to this point has been painless due to Brandi. We just met our builder Chance and look forward to working with him also. Everyone from Tilson we have met have been so nice and professional. This is truly a class act company with a class act product and class act employees.
