Building a custom home can be stressful if you listen to the horror stories, but honestly, we can't relate.

From start to finish, our experience with Couto was outstanding. Scott, Mariah, and Gerrico were an absolute dream team. They consistently kept us informed, communicated proactively, and made what could have been an overwhelming process feel remarkably seamless.

What impressed us most wasn't just the quality of the finished home, which is beautiful, but the incredible amount of thought that has clearly gone into Couto's processes, communication, and overall customer experience. Building a home requires coordinating countless trades, vendors, inspections, and moving pieces, yet the Couto team somehow made it feel effortless from our perspective. Their behind-the-scenes organization, planning, and communication allowed us to focus on the excitement of building our home rather than managing problems, making rushed decisions, or wondering what was happening next.

We always felt informed, supported, and confident that the team had our best interests in mind.

He brought a calm, thoughtful, and steady presence to every stage of the process and consistently demonstrated an impressive depth of knowledge and experience. No matter what challenge came up, Scott approached it with professionalism, transparency, and a solutions-oriented mindset. We always knew we were in good hands. Beyond that, he was simply a pleasure to work with—someone who could keep things moving forward while still sharing a few laughs along the way. I'll genuinely miss our regular check-ins.

We had the absolute pleasure to work with Randy, our project manager, he was beyond organized, communicative, and completely on top of everything. We always knew what was happening, what was next, and what to expect. The process felt smooth, transparent, and surprisingly stress-free — which says a lot when you’re building a custom home!

And then there was Mariah, our design specialist… absolutely charming and beyond beautiful inside and out… I often joked with my husband if she could also sing, I was done lol cause who could truly be that perfect! But Mariah absolutely knocked it out of the park. She took our ideas and elevated them beyond anything we could have imagined. Every space flows beautifully. Every finish complements the next. It feels custom in the truest sense of the word — like it was designed specifically for how we live, not just how it looks in a magazine.

Working with Couto Homes was an amazing experience and the house turned out better than we could have hoped.

They made the entire process easy, seamless and even fun, despite us living half way across the country. Also, we were building in a brand new community that had no electricity— they built the entire house using generators just to ensure the timely completion.

We initially started with Rob Martin explaining the process and helping us customize our home. We expanded a few rooms, added features and made some structural decisions. Rob guided us and kept us on track.

Then, we met with our visionary designer, Mariah. She asked us a lot of questions to figure out what we liked, then she made some amazing suggestions. The house turned out better than we expected. We love the flow from room to room— she managed to strike the perfect balance between continuity and variation.

Randy was the person that oversaw the construction. He was responsive to all of our questions, updated us regularly, and finished the project on time and on budget. A true pro.

Throughout the entire process, everyone at Couto was so nice and incredibly professional. Although we had heard that building your first custom home can be frustrating, nothing could be further from the truth with Couto Homes. It is easy to see why they are rated the best in Hood County.

We love our new Couto home. Alden, Hanna, and the team were so helpful throughout the process. We really appreciated the online tools that allowed us to work on the planning process at home. We received a high quality home and

After purchasing our land in Dec 2022, my family and I spent two years preparing it for a home. We made the jump to bring in Couto Homes and began the build in Dec 2024. By the following July, they completed not only a beautiful home, but helped us to realize a vision my family and I have talked about for years. Our project manager, Scott, was excellent - great communication, gave us freedom to explore options, was quickly attentive to any questions or concerns, and most importantly, he made it a memorable process for us.
