Turnstone Custom Homes

We are so thrilled with our new home! This is our first experience building a custom home, and from our very first meeting with Harvey to the finished product, it has been a distinct pleasure to work with Turnstone Custom Homes. Erik took our rough concept and designed the perfect home for us - and on a very narrow lot with plenty of restrictions. Lisa was a very patient and calm guide as we faced the daunting task of design selections. And the project management team led by Morgan and his skilled colleages, Jason and Mike, are true professionals who care about the details and the product they turn out. The entire Turnstone team is extremely knowledgeable, very responsive, professional, courteous and friendly. They were excellent at managing costs and completed our home on time (maybe even a little early) and under budget. We’re almost sorry that the construction is finished because we miss them! If you’re planning to build a custom home in Delaware, Turnstone Custom Homes is the company you MUST use!

Turnstone helped us navigate a devastating loss to our new home. Our Rehoboth home suffered severe water damage late January of 2025. As the original builders, we ‘turned’ to Turnstone for the rebuild. Once the contract was signed, the process could not have been easier. Our primary home is over 2 hours away. We visited two-three times during the rebuild. Really only one visit for insurance & another to select finishes for our home. (third was purely optional) As with most families, life is very busy. We did not have bandwidth to manage this huge project. Turnstone- specifically our project manager Noah and on site person Ronnie were wonderful. Erin initially walked is through expectations, etc. All three we appreciated working with directly. We are very pleased with the team’s work and outcome. Turnstone started construction in June of 2025 & our home was complete in Sept. Seamless execution- house looks amazing. We are really happy we went with the Turnstone team. The quality of their work is excellent.

Building a custom home is no small task, and while there are always bumps along the way, the Turnstone team was there to guide us through every step. Their attention to detail and dedication to quality truly set them apart. Harvey Ryan, the owner, was hands-on and committed to ensuring everything met the highest standards. Jason, our site supervisor, kept the project running smoothly and made sure no detail was overlooked. The kitchen design team, Peter and Kat, brought our vision to life beautifully, and Lisa, the selections coordinator, made the design process effortless and enjoyable. The entire Turnstone team worked seamlessly to deliver a stunning, custom-built home that feels both personal and timeless. We couldn’t be happier with the result, thank you, Turnstone Custom Homes, for making our dream a reality!

We couldn’t be happier with our “down to the studs” whole-house renovation by Turnstone Builders. The design and finishes are just what we were looking for and the house is barely recognizable compared to before. It’s the perfect facelift that it so desperately needed. The Turnstone team was extremely helpful at every step in the process… all true professionals with a great design sense! They made multiple suggestions during the process and the final product is even better than we imagined. I can’t say enough about our project manager, Morgan. We’ve done many new builds and major renovations over the years and I can say, unequivocally, that he’s the best PM we have ever dealt with. He had great ideas on how to tweak the design in the field that only comes with years of experience, attention to detail, and a thorough and thoughtful approach. Whenever an issue in the field arose, Morgan communicated promptly, clearly, and with a set of options to move forward. And he was always on the lookout for ways to save a little money here and there. I have a great deal of trust and respect for Morgan and the Turnstone team, and I don’t hesitate at all recommending them with a full five stars.

We highly recommend Turnstone Custom Homes. We recognized the need for renovations, as well as the great potential, when we purchased our home. Living here full time for a year helped to identify issues, focus on our short term and long term goals and envision the age-friendly home that would allow us to age in place until our final days. We selected Turnstone after Harvey and his team visited the property and are grateful that we did. They understood our vision and goals. The project was complex with three components: 1) renovation of the first floor living area and master bath, 2) replacement and expansion of the deck, including installing a new hot tub, upgrading the front porch and other exterior areas, and 3) converting an existing pole barn into livable space. As the project unfolded, the need and/or desire for additional work became clear. Each modification to the original plans, including options and cost, were carefully reviewed with our project manager, Morgan. When stressors appeared, as they will with a major renovation, Morgan was always there with his calm demeanor and reassurance. We were confident knowing Christian, our supervisor, was on-site, especially when we were away. Designing the new kitchen, great room and pantry was a critical component. While a change in staff occurred after our initial design meetings, it was a godsend, as we had the opportunity to work with Haley and onsite supervisor Peter. Choosing selections can be confusing, but Lisa is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in assisting, as the task can become overwhelming. We are grateful to our friends at Turnstone who have become part of our family...Harvey, Morgan, Christian, Lisa, Haley, Peter… as well as the subcontractors and the workers, who worked tirelessly to make our vision for an age-friendly home a reality.
