He was able to replace my fireplace thermostat, clean my fireplace, run diagnostics in record time! He was personable and friendly and I would recommend his service wholeheartedly!
We hired Ambient Air Solutions for HVAC, tankless water heater, and related gas work at our home. The total contract amount was $22,124, and we paid $11,662 upfront as required.The project was tied to an October 31 completion date due to manufacturer rebates and seasonal scheduling. Despite that, the work was not completed until December 12 — approximately 6 weeks late. This delay caused us to miss rebates and lose the ability to complete insulation work before winter conditions set in, significantly increasing our costs to insulate and to heat our home.Throughout the project, we experienced repeated installation failures and rework that were frankly shocking for a professional HVAC company. These included ongoing furnace and leaking gas line issues, equipment failures before commissioning, a missing condensation pump they forgot to install that caused basement flooding onto brand-new underlayment, an improperly secured A/C unit, and damage to our freshly sanded and stained log walls during onsite work. These issues were raised repeatedly while the work was ongoing, and we received multiple apologies acknowledging the problems and delays.When the project was finally completed, the discount offered ($1200) did not even begin to cover the cost of repairing the damage to our log home or the financial losses caused by the delays. When we continued to raise those concerns in good faith, we were extremely disappointed to see the response shift away from resolution and toward payment demands and threats of collections and a lien.The remaining balance is disputed based on the extent of the delays, defective workmanship, and resulting financial harm. We are shocked not only by the quality of the work performed, but by how legitimate concerns were handled with aggressive threats by Mr. Stafford once payment was in question.Response to owners comment: Response to owners comment: We appreciate the acknowledgment, but this response mischaracterizes what occurred. The delays were not primarily weather-related, nor caused by other trades. The project was completed 42 days after the October 31 date tied to rebates due to extended rework, installation failures, and repeated issues with the HVAC system itself. Those issues occurred before winter conditions set in and were within Ambient Air's scope of work.The problems we raised were not minor "adjustments." They included multiple equipment failures prior to commissioning, repeated gas line issues, basement flooding caused by a missing condensate pump, improper anchoring of equipment, and physical damage to our log home during installation. These concerns were raised in real time and acknowledged with multiple apologies.We attempted to resolve the resulting damages privately and professionally. When the proposed discount did not cover even the cost of repairing the damage caused, the response shifted to payment demands and threats of collections and a lien, rather than addressing the substance of the issues.We shared our experience factually so others can make informed decisions. We remain open to a fair resolution, but it has yet to be meaningfully addressed. This is the response we received from Mr. Stafford after I raised our concerns in a very polite email sent earlier that day:Hello,We have sent you an updated invoice with the $1200.00 discount on it. We request payment of this invoice within 30 days, if the invoice is not paid in full with in the 30 days we will be sending this to collections and placing a lean on the property.
