Not sure what happened after the name change to from Environmental Services Associates to CroppMetcalfe, but very disappointed in their service. Our AC completely stopped functioning on a saturday, it was heat index of 100 and 90 degrees INSIDE in some rooms. Service technician comes out on sunday for $200 (after hrs + diagnostic) and tells us we need a new capacitor for a total of $600. After installation the system turned on but was not blowing cold air. He assured us it would cool off and left. 10 minutes later system cuts off with the same error message. We call and the technician returns and tells us we need a new compressor but our system is too old (which is fair) and that he would get back to us about a new system. THREE DAYS later (sitting in a house with no AC) we get an email with an estimate for a compressor attached which said "Your system is too old for a compressor, a new system will need to be installed, $0." We already knew that and thought we were waiting on an estimate to replace the unit. The fact that they took 3 days to send us a blank estimate while we suffered in the heat is unacceptable, and we are also out $600 for the capacitor that wasn't the problem to begin with. Needless to say, we decided to go with Costco who gave us a great deal with a great warranty, $1400 costco gift card, and 2% cash back.

The ESA rep--Julieann--was excellent. She explained what she was doing and did the job professionally and quickly. I have always been very pleased with every ESA technician who has come by to inspect my (2) systems. I feel very comfortable that they know what they are doing and are keeping my systems working properly. VERY HAPPY.

We've been an Environmental Systems Associates customer since 2004 - 22 years! I found them after I had a bad experience with a company that is now out of business. They have reasonable prices and the technicians are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. When our AC stopped being cool about 2 years ago, I called and they came out pretty fast and diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. (Our capacitor had gone out after 20 years!). During that visit, we decided to sign up for the yearly maintenance plan. This plan gives you a discount on parts AND gives you priority service if you have a breakdown. Since most breakdowns occur at the hottest or coldest times of the year, we thought it was worth it. Today, we had our second yearly maintenance inspection (no cost today because we have the plan AND they had sent me an email reminding me to make the appointment. No need for us to try to remember) It is reassuring that everything is working properly. The two technicians were nice and wore paper booties to protect our floors. I appreciated that. I can recommend ESA wholeheartedly.

I had my first HVAC service today. My service person was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He oiled, cleaned, tightened, and checked the furnace and humidifier components. This was not just a superficial glance at the equipment and a filter change (although the filters were changed). Everything was inspected and returned to its best performance. Any mess was cleaned up and he even wore paper booties to protect the floor. I recommend Environmental Systems if you want a job well done.
