Just had a great experience with A-1 Mechanical. Furnace down. I did the reset thing and it failed. Called A-1. Dominic (the magnificent) was here 20 minutes later. (He had some leeway between appointments.) Diagnosed and fixed the issue in another 20. Was respectful of my home AND let me watch him work! I love watching people fix things. He determined that the pressure valve needed replacement. That did the job. I actually looked up the price of the part on the internet afterwards, there was a reasonable markup that I would expect from a professional. So, I am extremely satisfied with the experience. I think the timing was a bit of luck but, hey, I will certainly use them again even if they don’t show up 20 minutes after I call.
I’ve had an excellent experience with A-1! When we lost heat on a Sunday, I called them, and they went above and beyond to help. Instead of rushing out for a weekend service call, they patiently tried to troubleshoot the issue with us over the phone. Unfortunately, nothing worked, so we scheduled a visit for Monday.The technician who came out was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He not only fixed the main issue quickly but also pointed out shortcuts taken by a previous company and even showed us how they had disabled critical safety features ??. He provided a detailed list of additional repairs needed to address those issues, which was extremely helpful.The pricing was very reasonable, and the service was top-notch. A-1 has earned my trust, and they are now my go-to HVAC company. Highly recommend!These are the photos of the mess before he got started......
I am not sure how this operation gets such great reviews. The service people were okay, but the customer service repeatedly seemed to forget I existed and failed to schedule appointments/follow-ups until I called them. I.e., they left me hanging for weeks at a time without providing updates when waiting on a mechanical part to fix my chimney, and the service people seemed slightly annoyed/aloof when I called to inquire about it. Further, when we finally did get the gas line to our chimney fixed, they left the flange sticking up above our floor because apparently the new pipe segment they put in was too long. The manager who came over with the technician promised that he would have a custom part made, but it has been a month now and there has still been no follow-up from them. I even called and left a message with their customer service requesting a call back/update and they still have not contacted me after several days.Attached is a photo of the "fixed" flange still sticking up from my floor. It's safe and there's no gas leak, but I'm not happy with being left with this after a month with no word from A-1. If they had at least contacted me to let me know something is still in the works, that would be different, but they haven't.I am glad they were able to fix the issue and feel thankful they did a good job fixing it in terms of function, but I think this place has serious communication issues and perhaps needs to address lack of diligence at the front-desk level.
Chad came to repair a gas line leak and did a phenomanal job. I told him he saved another life. I highly recommend A1 Mechanical.....His photo is attached.Chad and another kind gent I forgot his nane came to clean my ac unit. Great job guys. No other company has ever taken the outer panels off to clean...which was evident with 6 years of crud. All clean now...Michael came for the annual sweeping of the dust from the air conditioning unit...another great service.Bob came out to give an estimate on a new ac unit as mine was old. Was very thorough and explained everything.....new one going in next Monday....cant wait. His photo is attached.New ac is in and oh man...75 sure feels better than a humid 89 anytime. The new carrier is also quiter than my last one. Thankyou again....Furnace was cleaned very well today and we are ready for 'winter'. Of course the ac is still doing its thing....lol
