We scheduled our spring HVAC check up with Casteel heating. Our technician Gerardo called this morning to let us know when we could expect him to arrive. We received a text with a photo of him so we would know who to be expecting. He arrived promptly and politely. He throughly explained the process that he was going to do to check our HVAC unit. He discovered a leak in the condenser unit. He was exact in his explanation of the leak and backed it with photos. He explained at a level that we could understand. He gave us a couple of avenues that we could use to get the necessary repairs done. Throughout this process Gerardo was positive and professional. He walked us through the process as he completed the repairs and start up of our HVAC system. We have been relying on Casteel Heating for almost 10 years. Outstanding service has always been provided yet today’s experience was far and above any previous experience we have had with Casteel. Even with the expense of the repair. We will rest comfortably tonight knowing that our HVAC System is in incredible condition. From the knowledgeable technician Gerardo and the quality assurance of Casteel Heating. Without any hesitation we would and will recommend Casteel Heating for your home or business HVAC system needs be it to purchase a new unit or repair an existing unit to family or friends. Thank you Gerardo and Casteel for our positive experience today.
After I had my first visit, that was part of my HVAC maintenance membership, Casteel recommended over $3000 of changes. I did want to avoid clogs and I did want to avoid mold or bacteria in my system, so I okayed the changes. After they made the changes, there was a weird smell that they told me it was normal and was going to last forever. I then started doing more research. First, their prices were very high compared to other companies, and I wished that I had done more research first (I am including comparative prices below.) Second, they never told me that I would have this weird smell if I did the update to the system. Third, another company said that I probably didn’t need both the capacitor and the hard start kit because they do the same thing. I feel like I paid way too much. I’m stuck with this smell, and I am wishing that I chose a smaller company that would’ve made more reasonable recommendations and had more reasonable pricing.1. Capacitor replacement – $487Typical installed cost: $150–$3502. iFLO automated drain cleaner – $550Optional equipment most homes do not need.3. RM2 UV system – $1,911This is the biggest cost.Typical installed UV systems:• Coil UV light: $150–$400• Whole-duct UV purifier: $400–$1,200• High-end systems: $800–$1,500Learn from my mistake here and do better research or choose a different company.
Brad Fisher was our tech, and he was amazing! We’re new to home ownership and bought an older home needing a lot of repairs and replacing, and Brad was great in walking us through everything that we needed or he recommended, but was not pushy at all with selling. He even put in a referral for a plumber to come out since he noticed our hot water heater looked rough. We will definitely be calling back next time we need service or repairs.
The Technician, Mike Dawson arrived at the scheduled time and assessed the condition of my 11 year old water heater. He showed me where it was leaking and because of the age of the unit recommended a total replacement.Mike explained the cost of a new unit plus labor and what my total cost would be minus several discounts, (the total discounts alone saved me over $1,000.00). He was polite, respectful and professional. He took the time to explain the how to reset the igniter and how to use the various shut-off valves.I will call Casteel in the future for any of the home ownerservices they provide and ask for Mike Dawson.
2026 360 maintenance visit with SeanWonderful experience again with Casteel. Sean was very professional and friendly, explaining as he went through the system and checked for issues. Recommendations were made but NOT FORCED - something truly appreciated. Great chatting with a fellow lover of soccer!Another A+ round with Casteel!! Thanks Sean -- look forward to our next maintenance with you!±±++++++++++++++++++UPDATE: 2WKS out And still no issues.Noticed our air conditioner hasn't been cooling lately so I decided to have someone come out and take a look. Kudos to Casteel!I was able to conveniently schedule a same-day, Saturday appointment online and within 5 minutes, I received a confirmation of the appointment by email. The confirmation included my appointment and info about the tech I should expect.Kyle arrived within the appointment window....closer to the beginning of the appointment window vs the end of the appointment window. Nice. After thoroughly checking the unit, he wasn't able to find anything in dire need of repair but did make some helpful suggestions. I asked about and opted to buy an annual service plan for future concerns. At the end of the visit everything was explained, my questions were answered and I received an email with all the photos that were taken and Kyle's recommendations. It's quite rare to find a company not looking to take me on a financial rollercoaster. I appreciate honesty and will definitely call on them again because when something does go wrong and we all know it will...I would rather support an honest company than a company that likes to nickel and dime me over unnecessary and oftentimes unneeded repairs.Thank you Kyle!!!! Fingers crossed I won't see you until the next service.
