Best HVAC experience! Everyone (Jason, Taylor, Randy) was excellent at what they did. Hotchkiss bids jobs by time and materials, which made the two jobs I needed done way more affordable and approachable. No surprises with billing or rates. All honest communication and upfront about everything. I received a flat rate bid from another local company that was more than twice what Hotchkiss charged, and to do less work. Randy had such attention to detail and went above and beyond to make sure my stove not only worked well, but was venting properly, looked good, and had a nice ambiance. Taylor put in the extra time aside from running the gas line to try to help me troubleshoot why the stove wouldn't work. 100% will call them again. Call them to bid out your job, you won't regret it! Recently (Nov. 10, 2025), Hotchkiss installed a new Trane S8X2B060 two-stage gas furnace, and a Trane 5TTR3024 Air Conditioner, for us at our home in Missoula. We wanted to let you know how happy we are, both with our new HVAC system, and with the great job your team did performing the installation.During the initial assessment, your Estimator, Jason explained the advantages/disadvantages of each alternative solution in a way that was easy to understand and that allowed us to make an informed decision. He communicated well during the proposal phase, touched base with us the Friday before the scheduled work, and there were no surprises or "gotchas" when the job began.The installation technicians, Anthony and Aidan, did amazing work getting the entire job completed the same day. They were both professional, and they were respectful of having to haul new equipment in and old equipment out through our home, laying down floor protection and cleaning up completely when they were done. They coordinated work with your electrical subcontractor and answered all questions we had about progress of their work. Anthony gave us a concise walk-through of operating the new thermostat controls, and provided documentation for all the new equipment, as well as answering all the questions I had.It was honestly a pleasure having Anthony and Aidan perform the installation for us - they were competent, pleasant, and worked well together. We received three quotes to have a mini split system installed at our home, as summers here in Missoula have been getting increasingly hot. After meeting with Randy and talking through our options and price points, it was clear that Hotchkiss was our best bet.After a full summer using our new Mitsubishi system in a multistory home, we simply couldn’t be happier. The units are super quiet, and keep our upstairs bedrooms perfectly climate controlled, even when temps get up into the high 90s.Randy went above and beyond to answer any of our questions, and even went so far as to swing by our home after he was off the clock to make the sure the units were functioning and the install went exactly as planned. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with the customer service at Hotchkiss, and would certainly recommend them for any of your heating/air needs.
