I would definitely recommend Travis and Arctic Fox for your heating / cooling solution. We have a 1950s-era home in North Vancouver and wanted to replace our broken AC and our inefficient gas furnace with an electric heat pump. I have been impressed with Travis and his planning and communication throughout the process, from initial assessment to permits to installation to inspection. He also took the time to discuss windows and doors and airflow to help us take a system-approach to our house. We now have a high-quality and great-looking Mitsubishi heat pump. He stuck to the installation timeline and there were no extra costs or departures from the original estimate. Very satisfied customers.
Hands on thoughtful service. Travis planned and installed a whole home heating and cooling system for our renovation project. Work include new equipment and all new ducting for our home renovation.Travis went out of his way to make sure that not only did everything work right, but looked great. All while navigating us through Fortis's funky rebate program.I would 100% recommend to anyone.
It’s hard to imagine a better HVAC contractor! My wife and I are in the process of updating our 1960s home. As part of this, we wanted to retrofit a heat pump that would be integrated into the existing interior space in a stylish way. Travis was the only contractor we spoke to that seemed genuinely excited about the design aspect of this project. After visiting our house and talking through several options, Travis figured out a way to install a concealed ceiling unit that used slim ductwork to service the entire main floor of our home (3 separate rooms). He and I also collaborated on a custom ventilated wooden ceiling to hide the unit while still providing necessary airflow (photos below).Travis was incredibly communicative from start to finish. He and Matt did a great job with the installation and were a pleasure to have around the house! I really appreciated their craftsmanship and attention to detail. It was obvious that they wanted to get the job done right. In the end I’m very glad that we hired Arctic Fox. Travis and Jennifer are running a solid business and the whole team takes a lot of pride in their work.
Our Arctic Fox experience was great! We highly recommend Arctic Fox!We live in a 60 year old house with high ceilings and single paned windows, not to mention A LOT of stairs. We received different quotes to install air conditioning in our house. Only after the completion of heating and cooling load calculations, did Travis recommend and install a Rheem 48,000 BTU heat pump to work in conjunction with our existing high efficiency furnace. Two other HVAC contractors advised that we could have our 8 year furnace replaced for free through government incentives. (We would have had to lie because the incentive is for furnaces 10 years old or older but the other contractors told us that the furnace date isn’t checked). Travis advised that we have a great existing furnace and there was no need to replace it.Install was anticipated to take 3 days but took 4 days. Travis was apologetic but we were thrilled as all the work was done properly and thoroughly and included trips to the hardware store by Arctic Fox for special parts and a new tool. Our total cost never changed from our original quote. We really appreciated Travis' honesty, attention to detail and professionalism. He and his wife make an excellent team and it is very clear how much they care about their customers.(Our experience was very similar to Jane Hurlburt's review).
We can't say enough good things about Travis. He removed our gas furnace and installed a ducted heat pump for us in Nov. '22. We had several contractors over to our house to give us estimates on heat pumps, and Travis was the only one who did heating and cooling load calculations and took the time to understand what our specific needs were. He had great suggestions but was not at all pushy. He's very organized, a great communicator, very professional, hard worker, knowledgeable, responsive, has great attention to detail, and answered (and anticipated) all our questions. He took the time to give us the detail we needed and explain the new system to us. He really cares about his customers, and his work! We are very happy with our new heat pump, and highly recommend Travis/Arctic Fox Mechanical for HVAC work.
