The W.F. Smith team did a great job of replacing my 30 year old central air conditioner with a heat pump to supplement my hot water boiler. It was a complicated install, and they worked with me to figure out the best option for my 100 year old home. They know their stuff when it comes to heat pumps, already recommending them to my friends!
After over a decade of getting HVAC service and repair from the regional HVAC giant, I decided to give WF Smith a try. The "big" guy was becoming less responsive year after year and also the technicians seemed less and less experienced and less knowledgeable. And the office staff, which used to be great, have become rude. They kept cancelling our regular service call, and eventually said that if we didn't like it, that there are other HVAC companies out there. At that time, I vowed I would find another HVAC vendor.Anyway, recently we had an intermittent shutdown issue with our 11-year-old Lennox heating system. WF Smith responded quickly to our first call for emergency service. The technician was pleasant and knowledgeable. While he got the system running, we needed a new part for a permanent fix. WF Smith received the new part and was out to make the permanent fix quickly after. The system has not had an intermittent shutdown since. The second technician was also pleasant and knowledgeable. I also had interactions with several office staff who were all very pleasant and helpful. Based on my overall experience this time I will be signing up for a maintenance contract for HVAC with WF Smith starting in the spring.
I’ve been using W.F. Smith, Inc. for my HVAC needs for years and they consistently go above and beyond. Anytime I’ve had an issue with my furnace, they are quick to respond and thoroughly inspect everything to make sure the job is done right. Their technician Dave is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and takes time to explain what is going on.Rich, the owner, really knows his stuff as well. You can tell he runs the company with integrity. They never cut corners, yet their pricing remains fair and reasonable. It is rare to find a company that combines expertise, honesty, and great service, but W.F. Smith truly delivers. Highly recommend.
Have an issue with my thermostat that the technician was unable to repair. He suggested I get a new thermostat. He did however clean and repair insulation that had gotten all over the Inside of the air handler and blower. The tech, Jonathan, was very knowledgeable and polite. I would not hesitate to use this company again. It was 320.00 for an hour and a half and the problem I was concerned about is not fixed, but I'm not blaming the tech.
