Purchased a brand new York A/C in June 2011 with 10 years parts and labor from Abram’s. Started having problems with it in 2016 (5 years old) and couldn’t be fixed that year dye was not located. Got the run around and had to pay several service call fees since it was the next year 2017 (but they were the ones to say they need to come back next year). Still couldn’t find the leak or the dye but then got a call that the condenser was going to be replaced. In 2019 everything iced up again and had to pay again to be told there was still probably a very “small” leak somewhere, but they still can’t locate it and again refrigerant was added. Reached out to one of the owners in June of 2020 and he told me twice he would look into before my warranty ran out in June of 2021 but I NEVER heard from him after he told me twice he would. Been living with no air completely for a few years now. BUYERS BEWARE! Update had Handy Bros. come in and they did a leak test with a device Abram's never did to locate the leak. I have had Handy Bros. install a new system. Wish I knew about this company when the a/c was still under warranty.
With a recently purchased condo, I was very interested in having a mini-split installed. When I inquired with the Board members, and the Superintendent who they would recommend (after calling around for some quotes on my own prior...all being much, MUCH higher), they unanimously said to call Abram's; this was also based on experience with the building protocol, along with high quality work.Todd M. came out within only 2 days to meet with me and discuss my options. He had knowledge about my building that I wasn't even aware of, and quoted me an extremely fair price (again, significantly below others), assessed my needs, and helped me plan on the location. Fast forward due to some delays on my part, but having already purchased the model discussed; Todd again happily met with me within a couple of days after deciding on a different location I hoped they could accommodate for me. (On a side note, Todd is so personable, friendly and you very much trust you are in really great hands!)Then again, within only a few more days, Brian and Ryan met me at the condo first thing in the morning, went over my location and any specific needs and hopes I was aiming for, they knew the regulations neccessary for the building and I left them for the day. Brian called just as they were finishing up (earlier than expected) so I could come by and they could go over everything with me. Despite having the manual, they still showed me everything I needed to know, the work was fantastic with very clean lines, every little thing I asked for, they were able to do, and I absolutely love it. They also left my new home impressively spotless! Both Ryan and Brian were extremely helpful and friendly, and just all around really nice to deal with.I am thrilled with the end result, the total cost, having gotten to know Todd, being more than happy to have Brian and Ryan complete the job...it was just a very seamless and great experience. I have zero doubt on who I will call for any/all heating or cooling needs in the future, and can't recommend them highly enough.
Abrams installed a new furnace for us last week. The service was top notch! Todd was prompt in quoting us repair vs. replacement costs. He took the time to explain everything to me and make sure I understood completely. The service techs were on time and professional. I would absolutely recommend Abrams to my friends and family!
Our furnace went out on one of the coldest days of winter. I was able to contact Abram on a Sunday evening and they had someone at my house just after 9am the next day! They were very helpful and walked me through what needed to be done. The heat was back on quickly and it was much cheaper than I had anticipated. The person I spoke with at their office was very knowledgeable and kind.. I thank her for getting things dealt with so quickly!
We bought furnace from them 9 years ago and have never had problems in our older house. At this moment we are in a really cold spell (-10 to -16C) Blower motor died around 3 am on a -10C night. After checking our breakers, power etc we called Emergency number and got answering service. When Tech called back within 10 minutes, he gave us the option of him coming out now and having to bill Emergency billing rate or he would come at 7AM and charge regular. Nice to have options. He arrived at 7am checked over furnace and found a non working blower motor. Told us he could order it and it should arrive overnight so he could install the next day. He offered to hook up another blower temporarily or he had a ceramic heater he would loan us. We took the heater as we didn't want the pipes to freeze in the basement. (we have a gas fireplace on main floor). It got down to -14C at night outside. Next day in the morning he arrives with replacement part and had it installed in under an hour. The part was under warranty (good for us otherwise it would have been around $1300). All we paid for was his labour. He was friendly, courteous, answered my questions and cleanup up after himself. Great company with qualified staff that are good with customers.
