I’ve used Bill’s for a couple years now to clean the boiler for two homes I own. He has also done some work for us without any issues until we were away on vacation & had a leak in the basement. It was a Saturday & we had someone watching our dogs. So she called him for us & he said it was going to cost us. Because it was a Saturday. He was in my house less than an hour, changed a valve & charges us $500. I guess he doesn’t want us for a customer anymore. We still had water leaking when we got home
If you have a beckett NX burner do not let this company touch it!! Bill responded this past weekend at the beginning of a snow storm to try and rectify one of his technicians who had incorrectly adjusted the burner. After cleaning the large amounts of soot build up from chimney.Bill recommended replacing a part and put it all together and told me we have to part ways these burners are to finicky. The burner ran that night but I could tell by the amount of oil I was burning it was not right. I went down basement soot everywhere. Great!Luckily I have minisplits that kept my house from freezing with the single digit temperature outside.I found a person to come and clean the furnace and chimney. He took out nozel it was not even tightened he undid it with his fingers, "that's why you have soot" he said.He Put in correct sized nozzle adjusted flame checked exhaust did smoke test nothing on paper, running clean. All doneI in a hour and 15 minutes.I have a running burner producing heat.Bills solution was to see if they have a build kit and buy a new burner and attach it to existing furnace. $$$$$ I am sure Bill is a sincere person howeverI wish he had told me he doesn't have clue how to tune this style of burner. Instead he sold me $230 part and a mess of soot and a burner that failed me in the coldest week of the year.
Bill's Heating Service was referred to us by Kent County Oil, and they were absolutely correct about Bill. Bill arrived quickly to assist with our problem and gave detailed information of what needed to be done, why, how much it would cost, and even offered information I didn't think to ask. His Service Worker, Eric, arrived within a few days to replace the many parts needed. Eric was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Bottom line...top-notch, quality service at reasonable prices. We're very pleased and will definitely count on his services in the future.
Really impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, responsiveness and friendliness of Bill, Kevin and Eric. And their prices are reasonable (and no upselling). We feel like we’re in really good hands! The first time we used their services was when our furnace stopped working on a cold winter day. Although busy, Bill squeezed us in the same day. Kevin replaced the fuel pump and quickly restored the heat. Since then we’ve had other work done, i.e., replace oil tank dip tube and install tiger loop, and annual service (hot water boiler/oil furnace). Recently, when doing annual service, Eric went the extra mile by cementing gaps he saw around pipe that connects to chimney. Highly recommend!
Bill's heating was recommended to me by an oil company, and now I recommend them to you! My very old boiler had very complicated electrical problems which were compounded by another company that could not seem to solve them. Bill worked Friday night 9-11, then came back again after we got more parts Saturday morning. Bill was happy to share information about the repair process and gave me options based on my budget. He solved everything I asked of him. His knowledge and 25 years experience were definite worth the service fee to me. Last but not least, he was nice to do business with, and treated my dog with respect. For these reasons, I have asked him to return next year for the annual preventative maintenance.
