I’ve hired them twice to do plumbing. The first time was an emergency and they missed the arrival window and never called to tell me. When they did reschedule and arrive the plumber seemed nice and honest and addressed my issue. No concerns. When I brought them in again to take care of 5 minor items they spent a total of 3.5 hours and used around 200 worth of parts. Cost- $2600. Two of the items they “fixed” are continuing to have issues. They came back for the first, and told me it would be an additional 350 “discounted rate” and I’d have to go get the part myself. I said no thank you. Another toilet they “fixed” continues to have problems. I called and left a message for someone to come out as a non emergency. They literally never bothered to call back. Fancy wrapped vans don’t mean a good honest company!
Rick and Ray were phenomenal! Extremely professional- explained everything in full before it was done and then laid out clear expectations for what I could expect after they leave. What they did brought me relief, as attic insulation and heat loss have been a big concern for me this year!UPDATE as of spring 2026: the Hitchcock team came to install my attic insulation and I could not be happier. They took care of my place so carefully. They installed soffits so precisely. Kevin, Chris, and John were a phenomenal team. I’m so happy and lucky I had them!
A huge thank you to F.F. Hitchcock for doing a great job on my whole house mechanical upgrade. I recently bought a new house in Plainville and they completed a new oil tank, electric panel upgrade, furnace and central air system. They were very professional and got the entire job done in 1 day. I had an issue with my system and they were able to provide me with 2 zones as I originally wanted. The owner directly corrected the issue and was very sympathetic with my concerns. I would 100% recommend them to a friend and look forward to continuing service with them for the years to come.
I am so glad I called! For years I've been wondering where my heat goes all winter. Phil Brito and John Casner figured things out. They were so nice and very professional. I appreciate how they broke everything down to me without making me feel dumb. They could have just done their jobs and left, but that's not how they operate. They made sure everything was done right and that I understood everything they were doing. Even my dog was happy to have them doing the job. They paid her special attention both when they arrived and before leaving. Definitely the kind of men you want working for any company. So thankful for their visit!
I am happy to share feedback on the dryer vent cleaning done in my condo unit yesterday by F.F. Hitchcock. I could not be happier with the job Kevin and John did yesterday cleaning my dryer vent.Kevin and John were wonderful. They were courteous, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. They got right to work the moment they arrived. They cleaned the vent from the inside out and also from the outside in. They shared before-and-after photos of the vent with me, and my dryer vent is now so clean it looks brand new. They were very respectful of my home, carefully protecting my hardwood floor when they pulled my dryer out of the laundry closet to get behind it. They carefully cleaned up the area behind the dryer before putting it back in place.I am the president of the condo association I live in, and I look forward to recommending F.F. Hitchcock to other unit owners. I have added F.F. Hitchcock to our association's list of preferred vendors with whom we wish to do business in the future.
