We chose this company three years ago to install a new high-velocity system in our home. At the time, we would’ve given them five stars — they felt like the smaller, more human alternative, and we genuinely liked the owner, Yeudy. Two years later, we started having the same leaking issue others have mentioned. The catch pan overflowed and the emergency shutoff sensor failed, sending water through our ceiling. The company said we needed to add a drain pipe and assured us the shutoff didn’t need replacement. We paid both them and a plumber to make those changes.A year later — same ceiling leak, same issue. This time, the technician, Paul, suggested removing the drain pipe he’d previously recommended adding, installing a pump instead, adding an “ultra-sensitive” shutoff sensor, and possibly a whole-house dehumidifier — totaling between $3,000 and $7,000 in additional work. When I called Yeudy to understand why the emergency shutoff has never worked, he refused to engage beyond repeating, “it’s not under warranty.” Instead of accountability, I got deflection. To top it off, Paul went outside to call Yeudy and then simply drove off without saying a word.Something has clearly changed with this company. The personal, underdog energy that once set them apart has been replaced by defensiveness and poor service. Based on our experience, I’d strongly suggest going elsewhere.*Update*Our plumber fixed the issue with a simple fix using the drain we already have and a PVC pipe. We also found that the emergency shutoff device works fine, but it was installed incorrectly by MIC.
DISHONEST, UNPROFESSIONAL, LIARS.Paul and Gardner, two very polite technicians, came to fix a leak in the AC unit in the attic. Charged me $4,104 for the following:- CON-100 Purge/ Clean the pipe that drains the condensate from your furnace or AC. Includes removal of water in emergency pan: $499.76- CON-180 Add a new condensate pump with all new drain tubing, up to 30' ft.: $1,112.72- 2Techs-Service: $1,431.14- CON-130 Install an automated switch that shuts off system and alerts with LED that you water water in your emergency drip pan. This switch will help protect your ceilings and other areas from water damage: $726.17One week later, I noticed a major water leak in one of my closets, coming from a severely damaged ceiling. A large amount of water had already been absorbed by piles of sheets, which is why I hadn’t noticed it earlier. I called Maximum Indoors, and they sent Paul over two hours later. It turned out that the pipe that drains condensate from the AC unit had never been purged or cleaned, the automatic shutoff switch (which should stop the system and alert me in case of a leak) had never been installed, and the issue had nothing to do with the newly installed pump. According to Paul, the real problem was a broken coil in the unit. The solution? Replace the entire unit with a new one—for a flat rate of approximately $18,000, after a $1,500 credit to account for the previous misdiagnosis, which had already cost me $4,104.As we started expressing our concerns about this unfair “deal” (especially given that the new leak had damaged the closet and everything inside it, and the unit they were proposing to install costs around $6,300 online with free delivery), Paul began going back and forth between inside and outside the house, calling the owner to negotiate a better offer. Then, without saying goodbye, he simply left.I immediately called the office to understand what had happened and was told—presumably by Paul’s boss—that Paul had left because he “found the door closed” (!?). Regardless, the “deal” remained as Paul had last described it: to fix the problem, I would need to pay an additional $18,000, despite already having paid $4,104 for a misdiagnosed issue, an unnecessary new pump, a drainage that was never performed, and a $726 device that was never installed and thus failed to detect the leak that damaged my closet. We ended the call with a vague promise of a $1,500 credit “to make me happy.” Needless to say, I am not.
ABSOLUTELY AVOID. We had a maintenance contract with this company. We had a problem with the condenser unit last week. Water leaked from the attic and into the ceiling. The technicians charged $4,100 and replaced several parts, including a shut-off detector to prevent future leaks. A week later, the unit was leaking water as before. The technician acknowledged that the unit was not fixed, that the coil needed to be replaced, and that the detector, for which we were charged, was not installed. They offered a reimbursement of only $1,500. Then, they gave a quote for a new unit, for a total price of $17,000. The unit itself cost $6,500 on the web. When we asked for an itemization of the work, they refused. This firm managed to be both incompetent and dishonest. Asking for a full reimbursement for some completely ineffective (actually counterproductive) work is probably going to be a never-ending effort and not worth it. But at least, future potential clients can avoid our mistake.
I knew they were located in Yonkers, Gardner the technician arrived and was very professional. did an excellent job and beyond, his attitude and character were exceptional, helpful and explained everything. With that said, if I need any work done HVAC, I will only ask for him! The price was steep for the partsand labor, replaced dual run capacitor 35/5 - 370 vac, cost $256.10, and contactor 30/40 amp. - 2 pole cost $884. 35, total with tax and service fee cost $1,241.76, which included labor by a professional technician who knew what he was doing. The cost for the parts are were no where near the cost charged on the invoice when I looked them up. But am grateful that I had someone who was honest and had integrity. The 5 stars is because I had a great technician Gardner, and am grateful that even though the price of repair was steep that I have air conditioning, there are mix feelings regarding the price. But would I recommend Maximum Indoor Comfort as it charges $165. service fee for the visit, ?, because I understand time and gas are not cheap it's a business making money. But I have mix feelings about recommending a company because it all depends on what they teach their technicians, is there integrity or GREED, do they lie to customers or do they practice honesty! I also believe it depends on the technician that is sent, I was lucky with Gardner!
First time home buyer. Sold me a unit but didn't consider that the retro fit was not worth it. Then told me I had to update my furnace to support the unit AFTER I purchased it. Could have pitched me an all-in-one. Instead I had to through months of trouble shooting to figure out what the problem was because my furnace was still in working condition. ultimately, I got a 2nd and 3rd opinions telling me to downsize my unit. Which MIC did for me, but not with any money back on the smaller unit price. So I paid for the larger unit, then they downsized it. then I had to replace my furnace. So I got totally burned in the process. Also, they couldn't even run the line inside the ceiling so I had to cover it up myself. HARD PASS. The price looks good on paper in comparison to other companies, but trust me, pay a little more and go with a better company.
