From our very first inquiry to the final layout of our sod and rock, Alex was professional, kind, and honest with every question we had. He responded promptly, and even though our project was on the smaller side, he still took the time to come out, see what we needed, and reassure us that his crew could handle everything efficiently.The crew Alex sent were true professionals from start to finish. After giving my business twice to Alex & Viking Landscaping (2021-2022) totalling $26,145 and reading the reviews of other clients, I’m compelled to give my own review. My house is almost 3yrs newly constructed & I contacted Alex after viewing their website. For your initial business, Alex is very professional. He quoted me the price & I never bargained nor negotiated even though it was out of my budget and given that I had just purchased a brand new house. Sept-Oct 2021 is when Alex completed the backyard with grass and patio work. First issue was he did not take into consideration the difference in height for the levelling of the patio and mid project, increased the cost. Then, that fall and into Spring 2022 we started having grass issues. I contacted Alex and he blamed the dogs excrement for the issue even though it was not and gave the excuse of warranty. I did not want to argue in an email with Alex; so we fixed it ourselves with grass seeds and fertiliser. To keep everything consistent, I went ahead and did a second project with Alex; Sept-Oct 2022 for side walkway and gate. Out of my budget but still did not bargain with the estimate. Again there was an issue, mid project the patio stones were discontinued so instead of having more stones it was lessened. I did not argue. Then again shortly after the completion of the project, the base of the wooden gate started to rub against the patio stone and would not swing open. This issue was brought to Alex’s attention, not fixed and into Winter 2023 became worse due to the snow and cold. Here we are now 2023. Again, Alex is refusing to stand behind the quality of his workmanship and using warranty as an excuse. Alex is a good businessman but a poor craftsman and no pride in his work. Would not recommend this company nor would I give any future business from my hard earned money to Alex & Viking Landscaping.
Alex was great to work with from the first meeting to the last. He listened to our wants and gave us his professional opinion when needed. He was very responsive to my emails and texts and his timeline was right on track. The crew he had work on our project was great too.
