Several reviewers praise the quality of hardscaping, irrigation adjustments, and complete backyard transformations. Some negative reviews cite concerns about installation details, cleanup, and post-project follow-through. Overall ratings suggest many satisfied clients with occasional issues around workmanship corrections.
Newport did the job as quickly as they could - clearly a get it done fast and move on to the next job. Since initial installation in April 2025, numerous native plants have died because they neglected to remove rocks that prevented them from going deep enough into the soil. Surface rocks were to be removed and they were not even though it was in the contract and we paid for it. Driveway was never washed off during the 2-3 weeks of installation and damage was done to the asphalt due to failure to properly protect it. Clearly, their attention to do a quality job in a highly visible area was not a priority. As concerned customers we brought all issues to their attention and we met with an individual who listened, took notes and appeared committed to using our concerns to help improve the company’s customer service, quality of work, and changes to their contract (which by the way in some clauses they could not back up). Hopefully they will make improvements over time. We have spent many hours and additional costs to complete the project. We will not use Newport again and we will not recommend Newport.Update 10/30/25. More dead plants and erosion where soil was placed.
I wish I could give Newport ten stars. They are one of the best companies I’ve ever dealt with. They just finished a backyard project for us that consisted of some new beds, trees, hardscaping, sod, rerouting and adding irrigation, running electrical conduit for a backyard sauna, and everything came out perfect. Every person throughout the entire process from initial estimates, design, planning, and the actual work (Will, Grace, Chris, I wish I had all the names of the incredible 3 man crew), was awesome. Communication was great, pricing was great, the skill of the work was top-notch, everyone was extremely friendly, and we were blown away. I was so impressed, I’m now using them for all my yard mowing, maintenance, and seasonal clean up. Thanks so much to everyone that was involved with our project! We are really happy with the finished product!
Our RV pad project turned out great! Expectations were exceeded, and communication was excellent. The work crew was outstanding, hard working, all very personable and accommodating. The project was completed on schedule. We highly recommend NAL!
10/01/24: NW replied again. We told them there is nothing further to discuss. We stand firm on our terms regardless of the $600 offer. I have never heard from the owner, only Will.-----9/16/24: After posting this review I did get an ask from the same sales person on whether if we'd accept them paying for the turf to be adjusted by the other person we hired as long as we took down our review. I, partially, appreciate this but I ultimately rejected it as I told them my terms are the concrete and the turf since I was not expecting either of those costs. They declined stating they didn't know the estimate on the concrete because it was outsourced. I did not respond further as I still feel they should have ate those costs or been better in communicating them upfront and not waiting until the install to tell me it was $1200 more.-----------While I accept part of the blame in this given my attitude declined as things fell apart...I cannot recommend them for AstroTurf, service, or sales. They did a good job on our stone wall, patio, and some of the plants.AstroTurfThey couldn't do the seams on the AstroTurf and the guy heading up the install told us that the seams were normal to be visible as well as the turf being pushed against the fence line. Having seen this done before I knew it wasn't true and I ended up bringing another guy in to look at it and he said they can fix it.They did a great job on the adjustments we requested on the patio and wall though so I have to hand it to them as we were probably more picky. The sales person and serviceThe sales guy was just plain awful. First he gave us a design that, when we searched the plants to make sure they weren't poisonous to our dogs and kids, turns out they were extremely poisonous to both and the sales guy had been out to our home and saw that we had kids and dogs and we had asked for them to install plants that weren't going to be poisonous. Admittedly I sent a bit of a irritated email to them saying, "Come on what are we doing here?" showing the screenshot of the quick search. He responded with "arborvitaes are also poisonous to dogs" (which is what we had requested). It was a petty response but I can understand given my email was snarky too. Then when we asked for the concrete and an adjustment to the patio to be smaller he told us the cost would be the same and, as the reduction in paver count should offset the cost of the concrete, instead ended up charging us $1200 more for the concrete on the side yard.I finally just asked the sales guy to come out and just look at the yard to get a feeling of what was going on and he said the one thing I hate hearing on any job site..."That's not my job, talk to the installer."After we ended up having so many complications with the backyard between the plants being problematic, the seam issue, and the patio being uneven initially. As recompense they did offer us the pavers for the front yard for free...but then had to come pick them up ourselves from Redmond. As I work every day, that meant my better half, who watches our two kids under 5 during the week, would have to come up and pick up the pavers from them in Redmond. We refused and reminded them that the deal initially was that they would come out and drop off the pavers. They continuously declined to do so...we finally said we'd like the pavers dropped off by July 11th and they went radio silent. We waited a further 2 months before they were finally dropped off 2 days ago. We held off paying the tacked on $1200 until they were.If you're going to get an install of plants, landscaping (mulch and such) or patio installation they are great. They are terrible at sales, service, and turf installation so go somewhere else if you have a turf install or if there is anything remotely complicated you're looking to do. Again, I hate writing these kinds of reviews but I feel it necessary to ensure folks don't get hosed like we did.Zoom in if you can't see. I can tell you living here...they bother me every morning that I get up and look outside.
