Old World Garden Design

We have worked with Silvia Jope of Old World Garden Designs for 15 years or so and could not be happier with her work—both as a landscape designer and in taking care of our gardens each fall and spring. We first hired Silvia to design the flower gardens in both the front and rear of our previous home. During the initial consultation, Silvia paid careful attention to our concerns (we wanted low-maintenance flowers, trees, and shrubs) and then provided a design that was not only lovely, but an ideal fit for the property. Some years later, we moved into a condominium with a small courtyard that needed to be completely re-designed. We asked Silvia once again to come up with a design, and once again her design was ideal for the space. Since moving into our condominium, we have asked Silvia to come once in the spring to prepare the beds for summer and once in the fall to put the garden “to bed” for the winter. Silvia is amazing! We built our house, and the outside was a blank canvas which felt overwhelming. She took time during our consultation to really understand the colors, and types of native and non-invasive plants we were hoping to use, and then put together the most beautiful landscape design.
