We found ourselves in urgent need of replacing our retaining wall and fence. Our relatives suggested Fortress Retaining Walls and Landscaping. The Saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” is displayed here. Chris & his team Jamie & Nafi completely transformed our front yard. We had so many concerns with the existing retaining wall as well as the stairs. Our front stairs have been referred to as “The Goat Trail”. We contacted Chris originally just for our front stairway. He had a vision right away and explained his ideas to us. We loved his ideas so then asked him about doing the whole yard. His vision for detail is so refreshing. We had previously contacted another contractor however they only did landscaping. Chris arranged railings as well which the other Company did not. Chris provided us with a detailed quote & they stayed on budget. There were a couple of unforeseen issues which were dealt with enthusiasm. He communicated with us throughout the project to keep us updated & met with us in person several times to see if we had any questions or concerns. Jamie & Nafi were the two main workers on our project. They have very high work ethics. They worked incredibly hard no matter what Mother Nature through their way. Always courteous & respectful. The job site was never left a mess at the end of the day. Sidewalks were always swept & left tidy. We highly recommend Fortress Landscaping and we are absolutely Thrilled with the finished project!

Chris and his team were outstanding from start to finish. Before calling Fortress I had spoken to another homeowner I did not know in my neighbourhood who had wonderful things to say about the work they did building her wall and how considerate the crew was. My experience was every bit the same, as they exceeded my expectation in workmanship and were considerate gentleman every day they were on site. Chris also took on dealing with the city and the engineer that drew up the plans for the retaining wall. This was a great weight off my shoulders since he was able to deal with them on an expert level directly. The final product has neighbours and strangers stopping when I’m in my front yard to complement me on the job well done. I have no hesitation recommending Fortress and have done so already to friends and family.

Chris and his team did an amazing job on our backyard renovation project which involved bringing a significant hill to grade and reinforcing it with a retaining wall. Chris was very professional throughout the design process, provided a detailed quote that covered all aspects of the project and overall did an incredible job at ensuring our vision was fully realized. His crew are a fantastic group of guys who were courteous, hard-working and great at communicating when we had things come up along the way. Chris was also very accommodating when changes to the project were needed due to unforeseen circumstances. He provided us with clear options including pricing implications when this kind of pivoting was required and was able to order the necessary supplies in a timely manner to keep our project on schedule. We were impressed with how the project continued to move forward and did not encounter delays along the way. He made us feel like we were important and was always responsive and willing to meet with us in person when we had questions or needed to discuss specific design elements. After getting at least 6 other quotes, we had Chris see our yard/slope which is fairly complicated. He spent alot of time measuring and talking to us about what we needed. His communication was excellent and punctual emailing us clear diagrams and accurate quotes. He did his best to keep within our budget but didn't shy away from letting us know what it would take. The final cost was exactly what he quoted us. When the work started, his crew was polite, professional and fast. They kept everything to code, installing proper drainage and keeping to height restrictions.
