We didn't have a great experience with Bluestone on a landscaping project.

Communication was lacking -- we weren't given a definitive start date and returned home from work to find out that the crew had been at our house all day without us knowing.

A big red flag was that John purchased all supplies from Lowe's. The tags and sticky labels weren't even removed, which is ridiculous.

We wanted some flower beds cleaned up the existing plants relocated, but instead they were all ripped out (half are in the photo below). When I asked about replacing them, John said he’d order seeds from Amazon, and that I would have to pay for any flowers to be planted.

Shortly after the job was completed, we found that weed killer had been sprayed over a large section of our lawn and killed the grass. We were told to wait a few weeks and it would grow back. When it didn’t, John came back and threw some seed on top, but told me I’d need to buy and apply topsoil myself. This ended up taking hours for me to till the lawn by hand.

We asked for flower beds to be weeded. While the tops of the weeds were cut off, the roots were not removed and the weeds grew back within a couple of weeks.

I cannot recommend Bluestone just due to the amount of mistakes that happened and the fact that we largely had to rectify them ourselves.

I have used Bluestone for over 10 years for mulching, aeration, and a bunch of other landscaping needs. John and his crew do great work and are able to get the job done quickly. Bluestone has been handling mowing and other yard maintenance tasks for me for seven years now. I have been impressed with their service and consistency, and have enjoyed working with John on several other projects. They helped clear out an overgrown area of the yard when we moved in, added height to a retaining wall to level out the ground behind it, and have removed a couple of trees, all at very reasonable cost. John is very responsive to any questions or concerns, and I’d highly recommend Bluestone.

Great service! We've used them for everything since 2019. They replaced our aging front shrubbery with healthy bushes and perennials. They trim and mulch in the spring, cut the grass all summer, do a fall leaf clean up, and do a speedy job with snow removal. The owner, John Cochran, is very accessible and gives advice and suggestions when I need it. He also planted some new trees. By the way, our backyard is fenced so there is a lot of trimming involved. Can't say enough good things and I highly recommend them.
