**Before Review: Choosing the Right Partner for a Heavy-Duty Concrete Driveway Project**

When you're planning to park 24,000 pounds of fifth-wheel toy hauler on your property, you quickly realize that your crumbling, cracked driveway isn't going to cut it. My 1,800-square-foot driveway, running downslope from the street to a wide apron in front of the garage, had numerous cracks and was collapsing near the retaining walls and desperately needed replacement.

I did my homework. After contacting about ten local concrete contractors, I received five written estimates, each preceded by at least one in-person consultation. My criteria were straightforward: value, quality, and relevant experience.

Though not the lowest price in terms of the dollar number, Eco Landscaping and Design rose to the top for several compelling reasons. Their portfolio showed work that was remarkably similar to mine, all exhibiting what I'd call crisp and clean craftsmanship with assiduous attention to detail, durability, and aesthetics. But what really sold me was Paul, the principal. In the week since our first meeting, we've logged roughly three hours across eight conversations, and his near-obsession with quality became increasingly apparent. His integrity and no-nonsense approach were refreshing.

The technical details mattered too. While some competitors proposed wire mesh or no metal reinforcement, Eco insisted on rebar, which I believe to be the right choice for this application. They emphasized the critical importance of proper base preparation. Paul even improved my original plan: where I'd spec'd four inches of concrete for the non-RV areas and six for the heavy-load zone, he's pouring six inches throughout.

Paul's fastidiousness, which I'd observed during our initial conversations, translated directly into the quality of the finished product. Every detail, from the precision of the forms to the smoothness of the finish, reflects high standards and genuine pride in workmanship.

The finished driveway has that same crisp, clean appearance I'd admired in Eco's website gallery. The lines are sharp, the surface is uniform, and the integration with the existing retaining walls is seamless. It markedly enhances the home's curb appeal and value, and I am confident it will support my RV without issue for years to come.

Paul himself proved to be exactly the type I look for in a partner: knowledgeable, honest, available, communicative, forthright, and easy to work with. I am a real sucker for free tutorials and received plenty during the course of our interactions. Paul kept me informed at every stage, answered questions patiently, and addressed concerns immediately. His integrity shone through consistently.

One point worth emphasizing: Ensure that all specifications you want for the finished job are captured in your written, signed contract.

It’s been several years since ECO Landscaping installed our pool, and we’re still just as happy with it as the day it was completed. The quality of their workmanship has truly stood the test of time—everything from the structure to the finish and equipment has held up beautifully. Paul is a great guy with a great crew. They work well together. They are detail oriented and keep you informed on what is happening and what to expect.They haven’t finished it yet but it’s in the ground. After the pool is set and leveled, they will start with the concrete. They are also going to put in a large back porch and outside kitchen area. I can’t wait. If you want the best fiberglass pool with the best installers, Eco is the one to call. I’ll post a picture when they are finished.
