Horrible service. I have used him for years and paid in cash/check at first, then switched to Zelle/Venmo. I had to use PayPal to pay for the first time, Amilcar went nuts. He claims he does not have Paypal account but there is a PayPal account with his business name and phone number. He refuses to call PayPal to reject the payment or close the account properly too. He wants to charge me extra $50 but wont call PayPal for my refund. What nonsense! Is this business doing something illegal??? Why can’t they call PayPal.
Met with Amilcar on a Tuesday to discuss the project. Showed him what we were looking to have done. We negotiated a fair price and I can’t compliment enough the job he did. He and his team went above and beyond. They were extremely efficient and took great care of all of our needs, and they even touched up some additional areas without charging extra. If more than 5 stars was an option, they would receive it. Excellent job!
I am extremely satisfied with the work Amilcar and his team do. This latest project was digging out some edging and mulching our yard. He quoted us fairly and honestly (as always) and did a quick, efficient and quality job. He has done stone work for the front walkway as well. Each time he has done it in a day and did not sacrifice quality (he is realistic about timing and the amount of work something takes). We are new homeowners and he is always amenable to discussing and telling us what is realistic and what would look nice while keeping my vision. I can’t recommend Amilcar and his company enough - they are the only ones I call.
Amilcar removed bushes and built a beautiful paver patio for us this spring. He was professional, kind, and very accessible. From the day I first contacted him to inquire about the job to when the job was finished was 15 days, which was unexpected and fantastic! His price was very fair, he does great work, and he is an overall very nice guy. I highly recommend his company and will definitely call him in the future for any landscaping and hardscaping jobs.
I'll break down the different components of my experience with Amilcar building a granite cobblestone parking pad for our teenager's car.Hiring Process:While walking our dog, my wife and I admired a patio Amilcar was building in a neighbor's backyard. He noticed us and invited us to take a closer look. We were impressed, so asked him for his card. A few weeks later we sent him an email with an inspiration picture. He called us the next day and came out to take some measurements. Two days later we had a detailed estimate, and we signed the contract on a Thursday. Friday night he dropped off equipment, and 7:00 a.m. Saturday he and his crew arrived. A fast, efficient process. The Workday:A crew of three consisting of Amilcar, Kevin (Amilcar's younger brother), and Leo. Amilcar was back and forth in his truck delivering material from the stone yard, while Kevin and Leo did the majority of the heavy labor. They started at 7:00 a.m. and finished at 4:30, with only a 30 minute lunch break. Charmingly, Amilcar's wife and young kids delivered them lunch. The Results:We have a beautiful 12' x 18' granite cobblestone parking pad. It's so nice, it seems a shame to park a car on it! I'm impressed by how closely they were able to align the stone to our asphalt driveway. Each cobblestone is 4 inches thick, so cutting curves must have been a bear. They cemented in the sides, under the dirt to lock them in, as they leveled it with 10" of material to compensate for the slope. They took care to grade and seed the dirt around the pad, so it's going to look even better once the seed takes.Final Impression:I really appreciated Amilcar's responsive communication, his positive demeanor, his crew's efficient work, the clean job site at finish, and, of course, how the project beautifies what was once a muddy dead spot next to our driveway.I would not hesitate to hire Amilcar. Contact me if you have any questions, or want to come see the parking pad in person.
