Recent reviews frequently note reliable maintenance and friendly crews, with several customers praising neat results and attention to detail. Some feedback mentions challenges reaching the office or experiencing delays for estimates or follow-up, especially for extra project requests. Pricing is described as reasonable by some and higher by others. Overall sentiment trends positive for routine lawn care while communication expectations vary.
Trying to get ahold of them is basically impossible. Took multiple months to get initial lawn maintenance setup. Trying to get some extra work done and now I'm on month 3 of "you'll get a call back" repeats. They do ok work, they're pricey, but their management is absolutely terrible.Edit: I got a phone call, received some excuses and a 50% discount for the following months service. Was charged again today and I did not get a discount. Because I'm out of town, I am not entirely sure if the extra work was completed even though I was charged. Overall, incredibly mismanaged. Do not recommend.Edit 2: Eventually got a 50% discount for one month of service after a few months. I've now moved out of my home and trying to call to cancel service has been met with no pickup even after leaving a couple voice mails. DO NOT use this company for your service if you want to be able to communicate about anything.
Good, reliable lawn maintenance service and a friendly crew. I highly recommend them.
I am often in another state for work and it is a major load off my mind to know I can trust my lawn and landscaping are being taken care of. Great team of people, reasonable prices, and very receptive to requests or communications specific to your property. I am always glad to refer friends to Sun Power.
I reached out to Sun Power three separate times before I even received an estimate. I wanted to go with this company because they do background checks on their employees, and as a woman I’ve had some uncomfortable interactions with other lawn service companies. I finally received two estimates after my third contact attempt: one for initial cleanup, one for routine service. I was given an estimate — sight unseen — of two hours for initial, and $320 per month for routine maintenance of 34 visits per year. That routine price is STEEP. But again, they bgc their employees, and I like that they use electric instead of gas (although that’s greenwashing but, still, lesser of two evils). I did explain to the two separate people I spoke with that for routine maintenance I only needed mowing, edging, and occasional weeding, not the full package. The quote I received had all the services in the package. Why would I be charged a full package if I’m not receiving all services? At $320 per month I could just save that money and get a nice rider mower to do the work myself, but I wanted to see if they did an immaculate job like all their reviews claim, and maybe after they actually saw the property they’d give me an actual price. After spending a week to get service through Sun Power, I gave up and began looking up other companies. Then at 8am today, a Monday morning, my dogs start going off, and I look outside to see a very unexpected crew in my front yard. I put my dogs up and went outside to ask who these men were and they treated me like I was stupid, even after I explained that no one ever called me to set this service up: I only signed an online estimate. But, I desperately needed a mow, so I went along with this initial cleanup. They did an okay job — my biggest gripe there is they left two very large weeds, and I just ended up pulling them myself. The crew left a card in my door circling that all they did was mow. Figures, since they were here less than an hour. A few hours later I get an email with an invoice billing me for FOUR HOURS of service! That’s $380. To add insult to injury, the service was supposed to include weeding. I of course called the office right away and got their call center, and left a message for someone to call me back. When trying to log in to their portal with the email and password provided in the invoice email, it tells me the password is invalid. So I can’t even go online to get more details. They also force you to have a card on file. So far I haven’t seen that I’ve been charged, but we’ll see.The amount of time I have put into dealing with Sun Power is ridiculous. The way this company has operated has been frustrating and unethical. Especially when they quoted me (again, online, sight unseen) such an insane monthly amount after I told them I only need mowing and edging with occasional weeding. And now this gross overcharge? Out of nowhere?? No thank you. I will keep trying to find a company I can feel comfortable with.I hate to post bad reviews but I genuinely hope this saves other potential customers from the headache I’m now dealing with: if Sun Power’s office doesn’t get back to you after the first attempt, don’t bother, because you’ll never be able to get them.Edit in response to Tom:Hi Tom, I am aware of the hourly rate. That’s why I don’t understand why I was billed for four hours of service when I received less than an hour. I also never had it explained to me that being given an estimate sight unseen was NOT standard for the company. I clearly wasn’t given any choice in any of this. As with the usual practice with estimates, I thought it was a base price, someone would come see my property, and give me a true estimate. Or, if service was being started, then the pricing would be adjusted after. Clearly the latter was practiced here except I was charged for four hours when I was initially quoted two. I look forward to your call to settle this.
Thank you Nick and Holden for the on-point service! My property is looking great with a nice team, equipment, and attention to detail! 5 STARS ***** (updated 2024)
