Totally transformed the space! Mike's work is excellent. He was honest and thoughtful about how things were going, and communicated well throughout. Even my neighbors two doors down were commenting on how nice and friendly he is. I would absolutely recommend him, and would definitely hire him again. If you want a pond designed to be the best pond it can be, you want it done by Forest City Land & Water. Mike has many different specialties that he brings into his projects. His knowledge of forestry work, excavation, fish and waterfowl habitat, native plants, and habitat restoration is incredible. The pond is designed to balance the best of safety/recreation/fishing/aesthetic/habitat. Before we even broke ground Mike wanted to know what kinds of fish we would have so he could design accordingly. He will also let you be involved in every step of the project and take the time to teach you what he is doing. He is truly working to help build a better world one habitat at a time!
We are very pleased with the work Forest City Land and Water had performed. Every part of the job exceeded our expectations. The work included tilling up the old yard, leveling it out, and spreading topsoil in preparation for new lawn seed. The tiller machine turned the hard-packed clay (which felt like concrete) into a finer base so that water and nutrients can penetrate the ground for a healthy new lawn. The owner, Mike, was very easy to talk to and had a great deal of expertise. He went above and beyond to make sure we were completely happy.
I had a large tree branch fall and crush my car in my driveway. Not the best of situations. My insurance needed the branch removed before doing anything. I contacted multiple landscaping/tree companies to try and get a quote and get it done ASAP. Mike was by far the best to deal with and was even able to come out the next day. Some of the bigger tree companies quoted up to 5x what he charged and said "maybe next week"! He also went out of his way to help me with the rest of the tree's health, and cut stumps I wanted for a project. Can't recommend enough.
