I was looking for a well-rated local lawn service to do some trimming and weed control. When I called to ask for an estimate, my initial conversation with who I presume is the owner was very strange. He said that his company doesn't do estimates, since it was recently voted "Best in Town". Instead, he said, I could hire his workers for one hour at a specified rate, and if I liked their work, I could continue to hire them for additional hours as needed. I went ahead and scheduled a date and time, gambling on the company's reputation. They cancelled and rescheduled it twice, the first time for a legitimate reason (rain) but the second time they called and said that they would be an hour late. The two workers who showed up were very polite and professional, and they did do an excellent job with the two trees they trimmed, including a thorough clean-up. But I had also asked them to treat the yard for weed control, because some weeds had sprung up since last fall. Within a couple of weeks, new weeds started appearing all over my backyard (see pictures). These were taken this week, and the work was done less than a month ago. I do seem to recall that one of the workers said a follow-up treatment might be required, but apparently, since this business was voted "Best in Town", the company considered itself too good to reach out to me and propose a visit for follow-up treatment. I also didn't appreciate the fact that the owner(?) called me up at 7:40 AM the following morning in order to get my credit card information for payment. Even for people working a 9-to-5 job, that's a very inconvenient time to call. Apparently this company now considers itself successful enough so that it can ignore little aspects of good customer service, like providing estimates, or soliciting additional work, or calling people at reasonable times. Maybe it actually will continue to be successful in spite of this. Maybe it really doesn't need new customers, like me. They don't have to worry - I will never be using them again.

Judd from Clean Cut had done irrigation work for us before so I was very comfortable going to him for an estimate on doing rock landscaping for me. I had to cut back on the original amount of work due to a larger than expected medical bill. Judd worked with me to meet my budget and get the bulk of the project completed. It looks outstanding! Initial contact with Clean-Cut Lawn Service was made to assist us in troubleshooting a front yard water leak issue near our water meter. Being new to the area, our challenge was to find reliable resources to assist in resolving the issue. Dona Ana Water confirmed the issue was on homeowner side of the meter. Next, we contacted Clean-Cut Lawn Service. Charley and his assistant identified the root cause but told us a certified plumber was required. We followed up and thankfully the necessary repairs were made by the plumber.
Given our positive experience with Clean-Cut Lawn Service, we decided to ask them for a quote to complete our backyard landscaping. Jud came out and provided the quote on the spot. It was within our budget, so we decided to proceed. We were delighted with the process from start to finish. Everyone involved did a top-notch job from providing recommendations on what to plant, to the planting, to installing some patio stones and the rock, which per our request matched perfectly to the existing rock upfront. When activities were scheduled, the individuals involved arrived on time. The job was completed within a day and a half. The crew was respectful of their surroundings and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Based on our experience, we would definitely consider them for future projects.

We have used Clean-Cut Lawn Service for many projects. They are on time and usually complete everything in one day because they bring a big crew. We've had them install sprinklers, grass, a play yard, irrigation for our pecan trees and a pond. On their first job at our house they rescued 4 kittens that were stuck in our pipes. We love their work and their crew are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend them!
