Hank Balson on Desert Landscape Design

I hired Desert Landscape Design to redo the landscaping at a house I bought in Palm Springs. The project included removing grass and astroturf; adding plants, trees, ornamental grasses, and rocks; pouring a new concrete patio, building a pergola, and updating the irrigation and lighting systems.

I couldn't be happier with the result. One of the main reasons I bought the house was because I believed the outdoor space had the potential to be really special, and I feel like Jim achieved that.

The process was collaborative. I'm not very knowledgable about local flora, but I provided Jim with images of plants and design ideas that appealed to me. He let me know when something on my wishlist wouldn't work in this climate and he offered alternatives. He was very responsive to my questions and requests, and he worked hard to keep the project within my budget. He also made sure the work proceeded efficiently and without unnecessary delays.

I highly recommend Jim Haggerty of Desert Landscape Design. His depth of knowledge and years of experience designing desert appropriate plantings resulted a completely fresh look to the rear patio of my home in Palm Springs.

Soren Ryberg on Desert Landscape Design

Jim and crew did a fantastic job on our project. The installation was nearly a year ago, and the Kurapia has now nearly fully filled in, as promised. We could not be happier with the outcome. It gives us great joy. We highly recommend.

Incredible design and seamless project management from start to finish! We could not be more pleased with the results, a contemporary house softened with a mediterranean pool and yard. An oasis in the Desert, making the most of our odd shaped lot, creating separate outdoor rooms and maximizing our use and enjoyment of every square foot. It was a pleasure to work with Jim, who kept us on track, even when things outside our control (easements/city planning office) totally derailed our initial plans. Jim happily went back to the drawing board and came up with something even better! With his constant steady guidance the end results were beyond our expectations. Sorry the project has come to an end as we've enjoyed every step of the process!

Carrie Class on Desert Landscape Design

Jim did an outstanding job designing and installing our new courtyard and front yard landscaping. It was both hardscape and softscape and both were exceptional work. The design process with Jim was fantastic. We spent several months refining the design before beginning (our choice) and even after we started the work we made another change. Jim was very happy to keep working with us and refining what we wanted.
