Local design-and-build approach, on-site project coordination, and solutions for challenging yards such as slopes or tight access. The team assists with material selection and integrates hardscape with surrounding landscape for a cohesive result.
Projects are typically scheduled across San Jose and nearby South Bay communities within Santa Clara County.
Services include landscape and hardscape design, installation of interlocking paver driveways, patios, and walkways, steps and borders, basic planting and turf updates associated with hardscape work, and project coordination from design through completion.
Recent reviews frequently highlight attractive paver installations, helpful design guidance, and teams that stay with the project through to completion. Customers mention responsiveness and willingness to resolve issues, even when hiccups occur. A smaller number of reviews report concerns about follow-through on punch-list items, reflecting mixed experiences with post-install communication.
BLACK DIAMOND PAVERS AND LANDSCAPE IS NOT HONEST! My project cost was CLOSE TO $80,000 and they did not follow through on multiple issues; Black Diamond failed to Install several expense items and caused much damage to my property. Their reactions were shallow at best, basically empty promises. This list included failure the install 'caps' (detailed information follows), no pavers in the courtyard and no pavers in two other areas. Their so-called front yard irrigation was a joke, Worse yet they damaged some of my existing pipes and then Scott told me I had to pay their installers to continue with the front yard. WHAT? ,(with these leaks and valves left open, my water bill increased by over $200. Additional damage was caused around certain areas on my house, they had someone come out and he 'started' repairs, BUT he never came back.At last count I have in excessive of 129 emails, about 20 Voicemails and tons more phone call exchanges. When after many weeks with no replies I contacted the BBB, this was an exercise in futility. Basically a "He said They Said'' scenario. To add additional frustration and @@@@ I then contacted Damond Certified, of which they are members. This was another NIGHTMARE. They couldn't do anything as I had already filed a complaint with the BBB, another total wasted effort.Somehow during the failure to complete my project, Black Diamond management got involved. Even the CEO / William C made MORE EMPTY promises; like, we want to make you happy. He sent out their Operations Mange (I think this was his title).More waste of my time and increased frustration and anger. The team came out and heard (I didn't say understood). We started at the front door - my unfinished repairs. Next the FAILURE TO INSTALL CAPS IN MY COURTYARD. after our discussion I thought we had moved on BUT he came back to the caps issue - and get this he said, "We don't do this!" I have several emails confirming this would be included. I provided copies of emails stating this was included. He again said we don't do this as it would cost about $5,0000, $6,000. He said my / their Project Manager, Scott lied.. he basically threw Scott under the bus. After this I strongly worded, " I'VE HAD IT WORKING WITH YOU.I am now working with California State Licensing Board (CSLB). And during this time, I am sharing my NIGHTMRE with the audiences that be Social Media, YELP and other forums. I know this won't do anything for me, but I hope it makes you think twice before you hire Black Diamond Pavers and Landscape to do your job.
This was our second paver job with Black Diamond. The first install a few years ago went flawlessly. They even went beyond our expetations with the service provided. The recent install we had came with a few hickups along the way. Chavalah and the service team was very concerned and receptive to seeing the install thru until we were completely satisfied and happy with the install. Even after we had paid in full. Thank you Chavalah and team for your integrity and customer concern. In the end our yard is absolutely beautifulThank you Chavalah
Michael Gurtler (Senior Project Designer) - Must use for all Landscape / Paving NeedsResponsive, honest, professional, adaptable to our wants and needs - could not ask for a better Project Designer from design to execution. Our backyard landscape was hard to access and on a slope, Mike and his team delivered beyond expectations. When extenuating events occurred (e.g., discovering a massive trunk under the dirt, third-party delivery truck stalling in neighborhood street, etc.), Mike immediately took action and addressed the issues to ensure project remained within reasonable timelines and within agreed budget. Furthermore, when we decided to pivot from original project plan, Mike was very receptive and easy to work with. Will definitely use Mike for future landscaping and paving needs!Project Scope included:Demolition / removal of old retaining wall made out of railroad tiesDemolition / removal of steps made of made out of railroad tiesInstallation of new retaining wall (Belgard Belair Wall / French Drain / lighting)Installation of Belgard landing slabs for stepsInstallation of new retaining wall to prevent hillside from falling into home (Estate Wall /French Drain)
Jim, Jorge, Joan and everyone else that worked with us to fix up our back and then our front yard did an amazing job, beautiful pavers and amazing landscaping, you really can't go wrong if you decide to go with them. It was a joy working with them from start to finish.I've attached some before/after photos.
After 15 years, we were finally able to make over our front yard and contacted Black Diamond. Wow! We could not have hoped for more. Senior Designer/Project Manager, Jeremy, was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He listened to our ideas, told us what might and might not be possible, and made suggestions based on our ideas. He understood our budget limitations and was always conscious of that when we wanted--or needed--to make a change. The process takes time for the design, the contract, and then the execution. The project crew, led by Jesus, was excellent. They were hardworking, professional, and always respectful of us and our needs. We hope to start a backyard project in the coming year and will definitely reach out to Black Diamond and Jeremy.
