Customers often note easy ordering by phone, helpful communication, and drivers who call ahead and place materials as requested. Several reviews highlight smooth delivery and good value for mulch, soil, and stone. A few customers reported concerns with material consistency, such as damp bulk salt and soil screening quality. Overall sentiment trends positive with emphasis on responsiveness and delivery experience.
Purchased 2000 lbs of bulk salt here. The salt was damp. It hardened the next day. Had to use a pick to bust it up and get it out the bed of my truck. Could not use it in my commercial salt spreader as intended. I total waste. Look like it had been dyed blue as there was evident of dye packs or whatever in the salt.
For my first time ever ordering and having bulk landscaping material delivered to my home, Main’s sure made it very simple, quick and painless. Samantha on the phone was knowledgeable and helpful. The delivery driver was courteous to make sure where he was dumping was where we wanted. I hope they know that I will be ordering from them again very soon!
Great price, good communication. Driver gave amble notice before he arrived. He was very accommodating when it came to where I wanted it unloaded.I got lawn mix soil, great quality, already getting grass sprouting. Tried to get from a national distribution place before finding Mains, they didn’t deliver and never called. Mains is where it is at.
Bought 5 yard of Lawn Mix Soil. It’s a compost, dirt and sand. Price was good, delivery professional. But the quality of the result was really surprisingly bad. Here’s the description from the website: “ As with all of our bulk soils, it has been screened to eliminate debris like rocks, roots & sticks, however, the screening process does not eliminate potential weed seeds.”But what I got was definitely NOT screened. Not even close. I got fist sized clumps of gray clay, branches, mulch, golf ball sized gravel, and so much large pea gravel that if they mix by weight, I don’t think there couldn’t be have been much sand present at all. And not enough sand means not great water flow for my new grass, which is what I bought this mix to prevent.Be warned. It looks fine when it’s dumped. All the gravel was covered in dirt so it looks fine and like little mud balls. But after a rain and watering all I see is a lawn of much and gravel, not top dressed dirt.If you buy this, have a bucket of water present to dump a sample in, swish it around, then dump out to check for those dirt covered rocks and mulch. Don’t let them leave and don’t sign for it until you’ve assured yourself of correct screening. By the time I realized something was up, I still have 4 yards of dirt on my driveway, and by the time I realized how up, my “lawn” got turned into a death trap for my poor mower. Seriously yikes.Pictures are pretty much random from around my lawn. Branch was part of the “mulch” category, if the biggest offender. Grass in picture is original grass I topdressed, not new sprouts, just so you’re clear on the size scale. Like I said, much and gravel.
I stopped in this business on a Friday to have rocks delivered the following Monday. Big thanks to the delivery driver who saved us hours of work by spreading out some of the delivery for us by driving slowly and releasing some rocks as he went. A+ service! Very punctual and easy to work with. Highly recommend this business and we will certainly be back!
