Metro Sprinkler system came highly recommended to me by word of mouth. They did a great job, I was very impressed with their company and team. After a few weeks, we needed to tweak a few things and they were quick to respond. They do quality work—my borders and lawn are looking prettier than ever, not cheap but worth every penny.
Had a lawn irrigation installed by Metro about 5 years ago, they closed it the same day they installed it because it was a late fall install. The next spring when I opened the system I found that they put a spray head directly 4’ away from my kids clubhouse/swing so the head sprayed directly into the clubhouse and no where else (keep in mind that the clubhouse was there when they installed the system). When I had the sales guy come look at it he said it really wasn’t needed and just turned the head off. A couple weeks later I found that the ground around one of the heads was always wet so I asked the same sales guy to stop by and pressure test the system to make sure I didn’t have a leak. He showed up one evening, 4 weeks later and after numerous calls from me, walked around and stepped on a couple heads while the system ran, said he forgot his tools but he could tell I didn’t have a leak. This week the water dept. notified me that my meter was continuously running, I had a plumbing company take a look because we thought our service line was broken. The plumbing company told me they thought it was the irrigation system so I had an irrigation company come out to check it. They dug the irrigation valve up and found that the copper line between the water service and the irrigation valve has a small hole in it. Seemed odd because copper is usually rock solid but that was the leak. While repairing that the irrigation company also replaced everything from the water service to the irrigation line for the sprinklers. I asked why and they reluctantly said it was all poorly done, compression connections, cheap thin walled pvc. I’m just saying, if this is what your looking for then by all means use these guys, if not you may want to look a little further.
Overall the company is easy to work with, their installation was professional, and the sprinklers work well. They took time to explain the operation of the system so we could operate it ourselves. We did have a bit of a coordination issue between our sod installation and getting a plumber to the house which caused us to have bare dirt for two weeks. Hence the four stars instead of five...
Hector showed up right on time and gave a very thorough explanation of what he and his crew would be doing. They got to work and while they had a lot of hand digging, they got the work done very quickly. They also made sure my yard was put back in place. Hector did a great job reviewing everything with me and was a pleasure to work with. My salesperson was Greg and he was great from my first review with him to my install day, where he came out and reviewed everything with me again and told me I was in good hands with Hector. Greg also responded to my various questions during the bid process which eventually led to me going with Metro! Especially liked that system is hooked up outside at the main vs another connection inside the house. It should make the whole system run much quieter.
From the first meeting to with your team Hector & his crew did an awesome job putting in our irrigation system this week. The entire experience was great on your team’s part. Carefully walking us through how to program our sprinkler system to suggestions on the zones to just the time the team took with us was exceptional. We appreciate Metro and would recommend others giving them at least a platform to tell them what you need!
