Reviews often mention clear communication and helpful guidance on materials and project vision. Many customers highlight strong craftsmanship on stone borders, paths, and lawn makeovers, with crews noted as respectful of neighboring areas. There are also reports of delays and concerns about workmanship on certain custom elements, indicating results can vary by project scope.
I hired Legacy to create a high-quality, lasting outdoor space. My experience has been disappointing & frustrating. The project dragged from April 2024 to October 2025. Despite the substantial cost, the quality of work has fallen significantly short of expectations.Key Issues:• Cracked/uneven planter boxes: custom-built and showed poor craftsmanship at install.• Incorrect plantings: Installed trees that were not what I approved in the quote. No communication on the change til they were planted. I was told they'll have similar growth rates/shape. I was sold on the cypress, and the junipers are not what I envisioned. I had no choice (to quote, "these were actually more expensive," so I got a great deal!).• Wrong fire pit dimensions: finished dimensions differ from those given at the start, compromising aesthetics & functionality. Weeks of back & forth with the original designer to confirm size and layout to accommodate expensive furniture I already had were to no avail.• I asked for an extra layer of landscape fabric. I've had issues in other homes and neighbors had success with a 2nd layer. I was told it’s unnecessary. I trusted the experts. I regret this.• Repeatedly my concerns were ignored- A water feature was built. I could see with my bare eyes the steps weren't level. I brought this to the owner; he denied it until a worker placed a level. They rebuilt it, smaller and less ornate, once they realized it was leaking. When I brought up poorly assembled planters (forms with interlocking pieces), I was told they won't separate anymore (why are they like that to begin with), & the owner would “keep an eye on them for further changes.” The areas where pieces interlock have gaps where weeds grow.• Poor timeline estimates- Consult started in April 2024. I was told it was a busy season, so it wouldn’t start for ~2 weeks. Fast forward months: many texts & visits for repeat measurements/photos later, the original designer is still asking questions about what I want & how he plans to incorporate everything we’ve discussed (intermixed with inappropriate texts like one referring to me in a bikini that I ignored). This guy finally did a design, and it was 2.5X my budget. I asked for a new designer; design took less than a week with an estimated 6-8 week build.• Damage to Hose Spigot: the employees damaged a hose spigot such that it will affect the sale of my home (literally a 90 degree, cinched bend). Legacy refuses to fix it because it flows (loudly & the shaking pipes resound through the house) and repair won’t be cheap. Can’t wait for an inspector to find this and the potential buyers make ME pay for the expensive damage that this team did.Despite raising concerns, there has been little urgency in making things right. Often, I’ve felt gaslit regarding my concerns. From day 1, I said I like clean lines and am extremely detail oriented. I’m so upset with the final result and cannot bring myself to continue pestering Legacy, since their sole effort to fix one major problem took 6 months and my other concerns were dismissed. Whether it’s gaslighting when they tell me things look great and I see for myself they are not, or the team literally does not see these details, it’s a red flag for me to recommend the group. Given the time, cost, and stress involved, I cannot recommend this company to others. The owner, David, is extremely kind and seems attentive (and the workers who put so much time and effort into this were all very nice and busted their butts in the heat or freezing temps), but when it comes to the final product, the team did not deliver in craftsmanship. While I can appreciate the team having taken extra man power to demolish one faulty water feature and rebuild it, it doesn’t make up for the multitude of issues.I strongly suggest clients proceed with caution.
I found I needed a base for the shed I bought at Costco. I opted for gravel. Since I wanted the base to outlast me and the slope in my yard. I decided on a stone border as opposed to the more traditional wood beams. Legacy Landscapes help me choose the material and explained to me their vision. I couldn't be happier with the final results. As a testament to the quality of the work, once assembled, the doors sat perfectly flush and squared. We will definitely be using them for our future projects.
We hired Legacy to remove all our St Augustine grass, regrade our front and back lawns, relay our walking paths, and add ground cloth and river rocks to our gardens. This was a big job and the workers were diligent and mindful of our neighbors lawns and our pool hardscape. Drew was easy to work with responded promptly when we reached out which put our minds at ease. Would highly recommend Legacy for all landscaping needs.
5+++++. Amazing transformation. The design, materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail is outstanding. I had a vision and they nailed it. It is better than I imagined. They are fantastic to work with. Highly recommend them!
I'm so glad that I chose Legacy Landscapes. I'm really happy with the service that Donny, the Project Manager, and his team provided! I had poured hours into researching companies and sod installation procedures so needless to say.....I had 1001 questions and suggestions as a new self proclaimed lawn expert, lol! Donny answered all of my questions promptly, and never made me feel like my questions were invalid.I was so concerned that I would not have lawn that I desired because we had a big storm the day the install began and the guys had to stop about a 1/4th of the way in the install. The work was completed two days later once the rain let up. I thought that the sod would not survive because of the delay, but I was assured by Donny that everything would turn out fine and it did!I'm so HAPPY with my new lawn! The first two photos are from the initial completion of the installation, and the 3rd photo is 3 weeks later after the first mow.
