Reviews

What customers say

Several customers describe key copying as simple or quick; one says the keys worked well and took little time to prepare. A customer who called about a house-door lock said the work took under 10 minutes, but the technician arrived about an hour and 45 minutes after the call; another described the bill as outrageous and said repeated calls and emails did not get a receipt. A customer expecting a locksmith callback also reported calls from multiple locksmiths, including callers from outside the area.

DO NOT CALL these people! I called this place thinking it was a local business. They said they’d have a locksmith call me right away. I’ve been getting phone calls by multiple “locksmiths” asking how can they help. And they were even calling from the Bay Area and further away. It’s like they just unleashed my phone number to countless people and the calls won’t stop. I found an actual LOCAL locksmith, and called them, he is coming out right away. This KeyMe is a big scam. It reminds me of when you ask a business for an estimate on Yelp and then the phone calls come out of the woodworks. What a joke.

The technician was excellent. Would never go to the dealer for this. Thank you.

A Issac

Had to do the dreaded call of shame and call for help with house door lock. Of course the local places are closed at the time of incident. For the record, the work was done with ease in less than 10 minutes. Appreciated. The ETA was almost dead on as well. That being said, for a 24/7 hours of operation claim, it took about 1h 45m from the time I called til the time they arrived. That's a bit long but... what are you gonna do? This place pops up on Google maps down the street from my location They also tell you up front it's 30$ just for them to show up and look at it. I wonder now, if you say forget it when they get there, not sure how that works. Employee shows up looks at the standard job and says it's 199$. For me, time = money so I paid to get it done. Astronomical pricing though. That being said, I asked if they wanted cash or card. They say doesn't matter. So I use a card. After the fact, I noticed using the card was another 5 or 6 percent. Then the review. I called KeyMe, a guy with a shirt on that said zm locksmith showed up then they text you for review and Google takes you to ntb locksmith, which I never found in the sacramento area period. Pretty strange. Thanks whatever company you are for showing up, but I'd never pay that much again. 5 stars for work. 0 stars for price.

I needed to make two keys. On the screen, it said that I qualified for a third key for free, but no explanation on how to obtain it. If it did , I missed it completely. Is it still possible to get that 3rd key ? Actually, I really don’t need a 3rd key, but it would be nice in the future to have it detailed better on how to obtain it. The keys work great and it did not take long to prepare them.

Total rip off - DO NOT USE - We called for service, the guy was there less than 30 min, bill was OUTRAGEOUS!!! No reciept, I will get one to my phone, I called, emailed, called again - NO RECIEPT. RIP OFF

The process of making a new key was simple, but the cost is prohibitive $8.39 compared to Home Depot at $2.39. In an emergency it worked fine given more time I would have had them done at another place.
