After dealing with more than a few locksmiths, as with other things like roofers, HVAC guys, and other good contractors so hard to find these days, I can tell people, "I have a guy..."I needed new car keys cut due to years of wear on my one key that has worn down to the nub. The dealership would not help me because it was an older model car - but new enough (chip key) that you can't just go to Home Depot or a hardware store to cut it.I looked up locksmiths online, found this company and thought I'd give it a shot. Called the number and Michael and I set up an appointment.I figured the best way to go would be to give Michael a valet key that came with the car and had not been used so it would be the best template to work with.He went to work and in just a minute he came back to me and told me "this key is wrong." Needless to say, I was a bit confused. He then went on to explain WHY it was wrong. Turns out, the valet key was nowhere near as good as what Michael cut for me. He cut three keys for me to factory specs - and they all worked perfectly. Yep. He was right about that valet key - and I was wrong.I'm extremely pleased - not only with the results, but with his attitude, expertise, willingness to explain what's going on, and just overall professionalism.We also talked about other security situations and I was impressed. I don't write too many reviews. I needed to write this one. Good service is extremely rare. And now, "I have a guy..."
I was the typical "I worked on it first and need it fixed" customer. Michael showed up shortly after I called. I replaced a door lock actuator on a car, it seized up and the door wouldn't open. He worked on it tirelessly, modified tools, spent several hours here until he got the door open for me and didn't charge any extra for the extra work. After removing the malfunctioning part, I realized it didn't work correctly and even when removed wouldn't function properly. So whatever magic he used was impressive.After that, I requested to have a new key and fob made for another vehicle and he had that done in about 5 minutes for a very reasonable rate.
