Scam artists, be very careful. Quoted one rate over the phone for lock changes. After completing the job I'm told I owe over 3x the quoted price! An argument ensues as they begin to blame their dispatcher for a lack of transparency on pricing. Lack of transparency is not the burden of a customer when you're in business. The story was not very believable either but I felt very uncomfortable arguing with someone who had reprogrammed my doors and locks. They then started negotiating down the price but refused to accept what was quoted. I would steer clear as this was very shady and unethical business practices.

I recently called this company for assistance with a vehicle lockout. I spoke with an operator who informed me the technician would provide a quote upon arrival. The technician, Gil, called shortly after and gave me a 30-minute ETA. I specifically asked for a quote before any work was performed. He told me the quote would follow an assessment, which I found unusual but agreed to, stating there was no rush and to keep me updated on timing.

Gil arrived about 15 minutes early. At that moment, I was unloading furniture from a friend’s vehicle, which took only a few minutes. When I brought him over to my car, I expected to first receive a cost estimate — just like any mechanic or service provider would typically offer before performing work. Instead, without clear verbal consent or pricing confirmation, he quickly used a balloon pump tool to unlock the vehicle, then informed me the charge was $280.

To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I asked how the price was determined, and Gil said it was the company’s “standard rate.” However, when I later checked the company’s website, I found no posted rates, no breakdowns, and no disclosure of what an “emergency rate” entails. For context: I never requested an emergency service, nor was that ever mentioned in the initial call.

Gil seemed polite, but the way this transaction was handled felt misleading and unprofessional. The invoice I received was hastily written, lacking detail, and payment was requested via Zelle — again, no receipt or confirmation typical of a professional service.

To be clear: I’m not upset that I had to pay for a service. I’m upset that there was zero transparency, no consent to pricing, and a lack of professionalism that makes this feel predatory. At no point did I agree to a $280 service before it was completed. If these are “standard company rates,” why are they not listed or disclosed in writing before work begins?

I would not recommend this business unless they seriously revise their pricing transparency and customer communication practices. I hope the owner contacts me to address this situation. As it stands, this felt like a bait-and-switch.
