KeyMe Locksmiths in Modesto offers a self-service kiosk for quick key copying and channels to request locksmith assistance. The location is at 801 Oakdale Rd, with extended daily hours listed. Services and pricing vary by key type and availability.
The kiosk allows quick key copies without a separate trip to a locksmith shop. Online and phone support can connect you to additional services when needed. Hours are designed for convenience, and many standard keys can be duplicated in minutes.
Primarily serves Modesto from the Oakdale Rd kiosk. Mobile locksmith reach depends on dispatcher coverage and technician availability in the surrounding area.
Services commonly include: key duplication at the kiosk; assistance coordinating residential, automotive, and commercial locksmith visits; select key fob replacements; and account or order support through the KeyMe website.
Customer feedback is mixed. Positive notes mention the convenience of making copies at the grocery store kiosk and keys working as expected. Critical reviews cite scheduling and communication issues, including delayed callbacks or unexpected dispatches. Pricing for some key types is described as higher than expected but acceptable for the convenience.
Misunderstanding called to get an estimate for key fob. Office required my address and phone number to give an estimate. A associate would call to give an estimate. 15 minutes later I spoke to an associate with a thick accent I explained my problem. I explained I just needed a quote for replacement of a key FOB. I got a quote for 153.00 dollars I hung up. They sent a locksmith anyway to my address saying I am here to fix your key. I explained a second, third and forth time I only needed a quote. The tech Smith was upset with me but I only wanted a quote. I Was called twice after that about this matter from the dispatcher. Both the tech and the dispatcher were not listening to me on this call.
There isn’t a way to give zero stars so I’m forced to give one. I locked me and my children out of the house with house and car keys inside. I called Key Me and the first dispatcher said someone would call me with an ETA. No one called. 25 minutes later, I called again while freezing outside with a four year old toddler. After holding for 10 minutes, I was told again that someone would call me right back. No one called. After almost an hour waiting with a freezing little boy outside, I called another locksmith, Modesto Lock and Key who responded immediately and were quicker than their quote time. This experience was God Awful and I will tell everyone I know to never use Key Me. Don’t do it people, they’ll leave you stranded!!!
Scheduled an appointment a day in advanced for a replacement key just to be told an hour before the appointment that there was no one available and was told to call another locksmith instead of rescheduling like ?????
I did the key scan while I was grocery shopping. Then, three days later, the key was in my hand. No extra trips downtown. Completely pain free.
Didn't know the Safeway Market on Oakdale Road had a key making machine... can't remember if the price of replacement key was on the machine but I was somewhat stunned and considered expensive at just under $9 to make a key...The price of style of key was posted, but final price to receive the key little high $$But I was well pleased with the make of the key and its use...I would use the machine again if needed
