I called at 6:55pm, to have someone show up to unlock my front door. This is how their process goes: You call, then a dispatcher takes your info then tells you a technician will call you and provide you a quote. Technician calls you. The first time he HUNG UP before I could ask for a quote (should’ve known right there.) So I call back, and I ask for a quote. I am told that it is a $30 service fee, and then it’s figuring out what lock it is and charging based off of that. Sounds okay to me. So I agree and he meets me at my house. He provides the service, and then and ONLY then tells me that now it is an emergency service and I’m paying an extra 175 for this “emergency” service he provided. They’re a 24/7 company. There is nothing about after hours charges, or anything like that anywhere. There’s no website or online info stating this is how they operate. The dispatcher did not mention it, and neither did the technician. So now my 30 dollar service charge + labor is now 247 dollars. Not due to the labor cost, or the type of lock I had (like the technician had stated previously) but due to an emergency that never occurred. To add insult to injury I am also informed for the first time that if I use a card, I will be charged extra for the merchant fee. For a grand total of 254 dollars. THEN the tech handed me a card and says “call me directly next time it will be cheaper.” I’d stay far away from this very dishonest business. If integrity means something to you, this business has 0. I don’t know if it’s illegal at all, but if it isn’t illegal, it is certainly shady.
