I went to Big D’s Lock City to have my car key rekeyed and the fob replaced because some of the buttons weren’t working. The man who helped me was noticeably rude from the start very short-tempered and dismissive. I tried to stay polite and patient, but his attitude didn’t improve.When he returned my key, the trunk button didn’t work anymore. I mentioned it to him, but he refused to fix it and simply said it “couldn’t be fixed,” without explaining why or offering a solution. I still paid for the service, but left with a key that doesn’t fully work and a pretty negative impression overall.I don’t know if the rudeness was just his personality or something else, but either way, customers deserve respect and basic professionalism. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.
They expertly replaced the batteries in my car remotes. I was previously told by a gas station employee that the battery in the remote for one of my vehicles couldn't be changed and I needed a new remote for $75. Big D replaced that battery and the battery in the remote for my other vehicle gor less than $20 total.
Prices are generally good but the cranky old guy who works there does not know half of what he thinks he does. He is rude and when I handed him a cylinder to be rekeyed, he said that I destroyed it and it cannot be fixed because I took it apart. That the pins would not go back into the cylinder. I went home and put it back together and took it to Big D on John R and the guy there rekeyed it, no problem. And the John R store charged me half of what the old guy charged me the day before when he rekeyed my deadbolt.
Very pleased with the service and pricing. My husband recently lost his car key and fob and was getting quotes for 400$ plus at other places. Price was great and the service was done quickly with no hassle on our end. Will definitely go back.
