I had an important work to be done for my car and chose Monty's Locksmith after a thorough research. It stands out in the greater GTA area.The overwhelmingly good reviews proved to be true in reality in my experience. This is indeed a very high level service provider. The works for my car were done professionally and in a reasonable time. Joseph and Renzo proved to be experts in their field and provided lots of valuable information in an easy understandable format. I also saw other customers coming with other issues and the same was true. They too were treated very respectably and friendly at the same time. The waiting area was also comfortable to spend time waiting. I highly recommend this place as it met my highest expectations.

I recently visited Monty’s Locksmith Service to get a new key cut and a replacement key fob. While the key cutting itself was fine, the key fob stopped working shortly afterward. When I returned, they insisted on scheduling an appointment rather than quickly troubleshooting the issue. After that appointment, I was told the problem was with my truck’s receiver and not the fob. However, it became clear that the receiver was never the issue. I ended up purchasing a replacement fob online, programmed it myself, and it worked perfectly. At that point, I was disappointed with how the situation had been handled.

That said, I want to provide an update because what happened next really mattered. Shortly after posting my initial review, Joseph from Monty’s reached out to me personally. He apologized for how everything unfolded and took the time to talk things through. He acknowledged that this wasn’t how they normally operate and that things should have been handled better. He also offered a refund for the fob, which was appreciated.

I’m a firm believer in not judging people or businesses solely on mistakes, but on how they respond to them. While the initial experience was frustrating, I was genuinely impressed by the follow-up and accountability shown afterward. Mistakes happen “we’re all human”, but the way this was addressed speaks volumes. I appreciate the call and the resolution, and I would consider returning in the future.
