Spoke to who I believe said her name was "J", she was very helpful and knowledgeable. She provided me with great information of the moving process, etc! Definitely recommend!
I'd give them a zero if I could. Start to finish, this was a shoddy, poorly communicated, exorbitantly expensive mess. We got different information from different people we called while setting up the move, which was further contradicted on the day of the move. We made sure to tell them ahead of time that our elevator was out - and we had to pay a premium price because of it. Still, the day of the move, their team cut corners to avoid the necessary trips - because they wanted to go watch a football game. Their team told us they couldn't take anything to a dumpster - they could ONLY take stuff that went to the truck for moving - because of "liability". But they were perfectly willing to take stuff for themselves, when we said, "Who wants this TV?" or "Would any of you be able to use this chair?" So the rules only apply when it's convenient and even profitable for them. Then to add insult to injury, the "crates" were in terrible condition upon arrival. I put crates in quotes because they are cardboard, not wood, and through whatever it took to get them to us, they were busted up, spilling out in every direction. No bill of lading was provided at arrival, just four bent-up big boxes full of our boxes. Everything is in storage for now but to be able to claim damages, the company expects us to unpack every box and show them what is missing or damaged. While this makes sense - of course they'd want to know what is damaged to make a claim - it is not possible within the thirty-day window we've been given. The company is inflexible and uses rules (like the 30-day rule, or the "liability" rule) in whatever way benefits them, no matter what their representative said to the customer. Lastly, just try and talk to them, human being to human being, about any of this - they just recite chapter and verse of those handy "rules". This despite charging $12k to move a two-bedroom apartment.
They helped my neighbors down the hall and so I tried to get quotes from them via the website and I left voicemails and filled out the information on the website to get help moving some boxes of mine to the UPS Store to ship and they never responded to any of my calls or to my quote inquiries. I'm on the top floor of my building with a broken elevator and I don't have anyone else to help me move these things. They could have at least responded to say that they didn't offer that kind of service. I had about 20 boxes of different sizes and weights. They just ignored my inquiries.
Mrs. J. and Mr. Lee coordinated my complicated move in Anchorage seamlessly! My belongings were handled professionally and with care by the 2 young men assigned. All arrived at their location flawlessly! The personal attention to every detail in order for everything to work out just right is something you just don't receive often these days and it is greatly appreciated! I highly reccomend Allied Alaska Moving! A huge THANK YOU to all involved for making a stressful situation work out very well!
All my stuff was packed very well and in good time. The movers took great care with everything. I moved from Fairbanks Alaska to Kentucky. I got my stuff in less than 3 weeks. And the movers that unloaded everything did a great job as well. I would recommend Allied to anyone who needs to move across country. Oh yeah I also used them to move my truck. That got to my destination even quicker and in good order. Well done Allied!
