Critical reviews mention inconsistency between estimates and final costs, variable crew capability, and concerns about item protection and communication. Prospective customers often note better results when details are confirmed in writing and expectations are reviewed with the on-site lead.
These guys charged us over $800 to move a couple of dressers, a bed, a couple of cabinets, a couch and some other odds and ends, which would have been fine, that's what we agreed to, except they sent 2 guys and only 1 was physically capable of doing the work. So not only did it take longer than they said it would, but my 70 year old father in law and I had to help because one of the "movers" was sitting in the truck smoking cigarettes or hunched over with his hands on his knees dry heaving and heavy breathing most of the time. Then he also asked to use my bathroom to go "number two" for 20 minutes. I felt really bad for the other mover because he was doing literally ALL of the work.We did receive a reasonable partial refund after posting this review though, so at least they made things right.
We were referred to Morse Moving & Storage by our realtor. Chris from Morse came to our home to quote our move. He showed us a binder with pictures of how our items would be protected & wrapped with cloths, disassembled if needed, how our floors would be protected with covering etc. None of that actually was done. They were unprofessional. They did NOT take care of our items as we were shown they would- many items were damaged. The lead mover & driver of the truck drank a high noon (alcoholic beverage) in our kitchen prior to driving the moving truck over to our new home. Once they arrived at our new home- one of the guys was dropped off & they asked us to go pick him up as he was dropped somewhere else in our neighborhood, not our home. They put packing tape on our stairs (not floor coverings like we were shown), they didn't cover our upstairs white carpets at all. They didn't cover our kitchen floor at all. We ended up calling our sales guy, Chris to complain about their unprofessionalism, our bedframe being broke and frankly every issue up until that point of the move. He told us to pay them & get them out of the house & they would be sure to make us "whole" on Tuesday. We weren’t comfortable with that & pushed back and again were told they would take care of all of it on Tuesday. Our stairwell ceiling drywall was damaged because they didn't take apart our bed frame as we were told they would. Our bed frame was also completely cracked in multiple places. They took the protective cover off our mattress to which it was stained/frayed by their dirty straps/hands. MUTLIPLE pieces of furniture were scratched deeply to the point of needing replacement- our headboard, bed frame, bookshelf, our daughter's dresser, armoire all left with deep scratches. Our deep freezer was so badly dented it doesn’t close tightly. NONE of our furniture was scratched prior to Morse Moving handling our belongings. As you can imagine our distain grew as we discovered all the damaged, they caused as we moved throughout our home after they left.Tuesday morning, we called the office first thing & explained the disaster of a move to which Stacey was appalled at how our move went and showed genuine empathy. She had US take pictures of all the damage & fill out a form with replacements costs etc. She also led us to believe things would be taken care of. We spent an entire evening taking photos of all the damage, looking up replacement costs to like items and describing the damage. That alone took US three hours. They damaged our belongings, and WE had to spend the time documenting. We were originally told to not replace anything as someone may have to come out & look at it. That never happened. Instead, WEEKS later, with no follow up from Morse we were sent a check in the amount of $390.00 with a letter stating in part, “we are prohibited from paying a sum in excess of our legal liability, which in this instance has been established by the bill of lading at 60 cents per pound per article”.They damaged our neighbors’ landscaping, drank on the job & drove, overcharged us for labor, ruined multiple pieces of our furniture, took a piece out of our drywall, scratched our kitchen floor, stained our carpet & damaged our deep freezer. ALL of which could have been avoided had they taken care of & wrapped things as we were showed & told would happen. They then REFUSED to refund us ANY of the cost of our move & then sent us a check for $390.00 as damage compensation. They are completely unprofessional, incompetent, have horrible customer service, do NOT adhere to their contract nor hold themselves accountable to their customers. I would recommend anyone other than Morse Moving & Storage if you are in the market to move.
Our team at Sun & Snow worked with Morse Moving & Storage on a three-leg Ski and Snowboard Swap project, and the experience was excellent. Bryan, our driver, went above and beyond to keep everything on time and handled with care. From start to finish, the communication and coordination with Morse were smooth and professional. Highly recommend Morse for any large-scale event or logistics project. Thank you also to Jeff and Brittney for the awesome communication. A+++!
Worst Moving Experience Ever – Stay Away from Morse Movers1. Bait-and-Switch Estimate: Emily came in person and gave us a non-binding estimate, but the final cost was inflated once the movers arrived.2. Dishonest Tactics: Eric and his crew were openly discussing how to pad the bill by adding four extra hours for no reason.3. Unprofessional Staff: One elderly worker took forever just to pack the kitchen — dragging the job out to increase charges.4. Hostage Situation: After pickup, they refused to deliver our items unless we paid an additional $2,200 on the spot.5. Rude and Abusive Management: Emily vanished after taking the booking. We were bounced between Adam, Morgan, and Sonia — none took responsibility — and Mark, who claimed to be Eric’s boss, was vulgar and abusive on the phone.6. They work slow and take multiple smoke breaks and chit chat breaks.Avoid Morse Movers at all costs. They turned what should’ve been a simple move into an ordeal of manipulation, threats, and emotional stress.
We hired Morse Moving to move my parent’s house and the crew was amazing. They were very respectful of their belongings. My mom especially liked how they protected the floors and handrails. Shoutout to Craig and team, very friendly and hardworking. It was impressive to see them work. 10/10 would use them again!
