I, Damon Redo, truck 1650. I’m highly pissed because I’m getting wrote up by dispatcher Ray for a load that’s due the next day and I won’t take it a day before because I’m tired and don’t want to sacrifice myself or others safety. He don’t even care he told me it’s not his problem.
The load was booked with a Monday delivery, but upon arrival, the receiver stated the appointment was set for Tuesday. They lie tell you to wait for a return trailer that they will pay Layover and then turn around and don’t pay nothing. Broker won’t answer calls or messages, after we already agreed on deducting 2 days on us.
OTR drivers continually tell me they love what they do, but will often qualify that positive by expressing disappointment with their dispatcher(s). I get it.After many years of dispatch interactions and literally thousands of telephone, texting, and email conversations, I can honestly say it is often challenging, disappointing, and frustrating when dealing with dispatchers. I've had a few that were absolutely terrible. Some were good and only one that warrants being called great.Thankfully I'm currently working with that "great" dispatcher. Diana listens, assesses, considers, evaluates, and more before she takes action. She represents Value Truck exceedingly well and makes my life easier through her professionalism, reasoning, good judgement, and thoughtful consideration.My wife recently asked me what I appreciate most about Value Truck and, without hesitation, I said, "My dispatcher."My wife has "seen" me struggle with frustrations associated with inept, unprofessional, and insincere dispatchers. The communication is horrible. My husband did an emergency load for this company and they have yet to pay him. Our factoring company won’t factor the load due to this companies credit terms. If you do loads for this company make sure you’re factoring company covers them or make sure they will quick pay you. We’ve been given the run around for 1 week now. No response. I will say dispatch has been helpful and trying to get us paid but the higher up’s don’t respond and neither does the accounts payable department.
