I’ve done business with Bellhop in the past and it was great. Apparently, moves are now brokered, and it was a nightmare. You also cannot speak with anyone in customer service if you have an issue — you are forced to talk to an AI answering service and then a “support ticket” is issued before someone calls you back. Both of my moving teams (loading and unloading) were very kind and helpful, which is the only reason I’m even giving 2 stars.Communication with Bellhop was next to impossible and incredibly frustrating. I was called the day before my move from the moving company doing the unloading asking me if they could reschedule — something that should have been coordinated via Bellhop. We worked through the scheduling conflict I thought, but when I tried calling the unloading team the day of my move to offer instruction as to where to park, they inform me that Bellhop removed them from my move and someone else would be handling it. I try to call Bellhop to get in touch with the unloading team… and I am greeted with the AI answering service once again. And maybe the worst part of all of this — BOTH teams informed me that any tip through the app, they have never seen a dime of. Thankfully I had cash, but if I’d planned to tip via the app, these guys would’ve never gotten it.My unloading team, while kind, also did not reassemble our bed or dresser and the footboard was broken when they moved it in. I’d report it directly to Bellhop, but I would have to speak with their AI customer service agent to do so.Very very unhappy with this entire experience.
The service was exceptional! They were polite, handled the furniture with care, they were fast and finished in record time. I will recommend your company to everyone I know. Just recommended you to my daughter who has a move coming up in a couple of months. Wanted to tip the movers, but they finished before I got to the destination. How can I correct that? Unfair charges, broken items, and zero accountabilityI had a deeply disappointing experience with Bellhop Movers, and I strongly caution anyone considering them.I paid for three movers, but only two showed up on time. The third mover arrived two hours late, which naturally slowed the entire move down. Despite this being entirely their fault, Bellhop still charged me for a total of six hours, double the time of what was originally estimated as a three hour move.Let’s be clear:The move took longer because Bellhop failed to provide the crew I paid for on time. Yet instead of owning their mistake, they passed the cost on to me. Their idea of “making it right”? A measly $83 credit, which doesn’t come close to covering the additional time I was unfairly billed. To make matters worse, they broke an expensive glass table during the move. Their compensation policy paid out $0.60 per pound, which is frankly insulting and nowhere near the value of the item. This feels less like customer protection and more like a loophole to avoid real responsibility.Between the late crew, inflated charges, damaged property, and minimal compensation, this company showed a complete lack of fairness and accountability. I trusted Bellhop with my belongings and my money and regretted it.If you value transparency, professionalism, and fair treatment, look elsewhere.
Such a pleasant experience! It was my first time using a paid service to move, I was unsure what to expect but I quickly was very affirmed. Pat - the team lead brought such a positive energy to our move and did a great job asking about all the details. Manuel was so focused and determined even though we had some rain, everyone worked hard and got our move done early!
Bellhop is a complete sham of a company. They promote themselves as a professional moving company and they inundate you with emails, texts, and calls offering pre planning lists, concierge service, etc. But when the actual move takes place, it’s a joke. In my case they sent a 21-year old college senior as the crew lead, and an 18-year old athlete as a helper. The third guy was a no show. The truck showed up 90 minutes late. The 18-year old’s girlfriend was offered up to help, and while she did, it was marginal at best and I assumed it was a genuine offer to help. A six hour contract took 9-1/2 hours, and multiple pieces of our very expensive furniture were damaged. A move that was contracted for $1,044 was over $1,450. I’ve spoken today with Tony, a very competent young customer support agent, who offered me a 15% discount. I passed. After the debacle of my move, I’m told they’re not liable, they’re not a moving company but a communication portal, and essentially I’m being stiff armed. I’ve disputed the extra charge with my credit card, and I’ve reported Bellhop to the Better Business Bureau. For the significant surface damage to my furniture I reluctantly accepted $303.BTW, I tipped the kids $125 because I’m a caring, decent human being. I didn’t see the damages until the following morning.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Unless it’s a small local move with inexpensive furniture, you will be severely disappointed.UPDATE 3/19/24 - Bellhop has issued several credits that take my final bill to $1,119 excluding the $303 credit for the thousands of dollars in damages to my furniture. RUN.
