Absolutely disappointed with the services I received with my move. There is not a lot of transparency on the office side of things. I didn't find out how many movers or what time they were coming until 45 minutes before they arrived. It took them over 5 hours to move my 1-bedroom apartment. They had a job earlier in the morning so I'm assuming they were just out of energy. I was very open that the freight elevator was not working and that very large items (my couch) would have to be taken up the stairs. Then once it was time I was charged an extra $300 to move the couch. I paid in cash because it is a little cheaper and I also wouldn't recommend that. Overall, wouldn't use them again.
Don’t know how to provide this feedback without leaving a review, but the interactions with big man’s moving just left a bad taste in our mouths... We specifically didn’t go with them because of their aggressive salesmen tactics that we felt were weird and a little much. We got a quote and the man on the phone was very nice and thorough. Got a call maybe a week later and it was a girl on the phone. She was very nice and asked if we wanted to proceed. It’s normal business practice to follow up, that’s no problem at all. I kindly said we weren’t ready to make a decision with a specific mover yet, and that we’ll reach out if we decide to go with them. She said “Can I ask what’s keeping you from deciding?” I was surprised by that response, so I basically reworded it and said “We’re just still shopping around with different movers right now. So I’ll let you know when we’re ready, thanks though.” Instead of accepting the fact that we weren’t ready, she asked “Well can I just tell you about my experience in the moving industry?” It was like she wouldn’t take no for an answer. It was weird and uncomfortable. At this point it felt like it turned into a sales call, so I just hung up. She attempted to call me back, then texted me “I just wanted to help with some industry insight when it comes to shopping for movers.” It was just a completely different experience from the other moving companies we had contacted, but in a bad way. We immediately decided not to go with them. Now she’s tried to called me back again a couple weeks later. Again, normally standard, but after our last interaction I just didn’t even want to be on the phone with her. I hung up when she said big man’s moving. Then she tried calling back again and immediately emailed me. I don’t want to discredit the whole company for this experience, but just want to give feedback so hopefully they revisit their tactics… no customer wants to feel like they’re being harassed. It was specifically the only reason we didn’t give them our business. Sorry.
First off, I would like to commend your team — Christopher, Cordero, and Derrick. They were quick, professional, and efficient in handling my move. Their work truly stands out, and I appreciate their exceptional skills and dedication. I would give 5 stars to them!However, I was not happy with the billing procedure. The $50 booking fee to reserve the truck and an additional $125 charge for supplies (including covering the truck, tools, wrap, tape, dollies, and fuel) seemed a bit excessive, especially since it was for the company's own truck. Given that I moved only 10 minutes away and filled just over half a trailer, the total charge of $967 (including booking fee) was quite unexpected (I accounted for moving from the third floor).I had initially planned for them to move four TVs and my glass end tables, but I opted not to proceed with those items.Additionally, while I understand billing in 15-minute increments when a move exceeds an hour, charging those increments when the move comes in under an hour feels a bit unfair.That said, I am relieved that nothing was damaged during the move, which is highly commendable.
We had a great experience with this moving company. Gavin, Phillip, and Josh were incredibly hardworking, courteous, and polite throughout the entire move. They handled everything with care and professionalism, and the process was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!
I'm giving 4 stars because I bet they're great movers, but the only reason I'm leaving this review is because one of their trucks pulled out in front of me this morning and then didn't accelerate. They didn't pull out close enough to where I had to slam on the brakes, just to be clear, there was plenty of room. They left the Hampton Inn, in Marion NC. Turned left on US-221 (55 mph spd limit) and went 20 mph. I did eventually have to slam on my brakes because that's basically standing still when your cruise control is set at 60. Be a little more considerate. Myself and at least a few of the 20 cars that ended being stuck behind this truck going under 20mph were on the way to work. Luckily I had left early enough this morning. The world doesn't revolve around you. Think about your actions. Maybe other ppl don't have the time to idle down a major highway at 7:45 am.
