I would not recommend using this company for any move.Key Details:1 Bedroom Apartment.All furniture was disassembled.Drive between places was 40 mins and in the words of the movers there was no traffic.My Experience:During my move which was on a reduced rate day the move out of my unit took the same as the move into my new unit. This may sound normal and good however I had to move everything out of my old unit and place it right in front of the elevator for the movers to easily stack into as it took them 30 mins to move 2 twins and 1 king mattress.Upon getting to the new place they moved everything into the new unit without my aid and also with a twice as long walk to the unit as we are at the far end away from the elevator.It is in my opinion that this is an inconsistent performance and was done to drag out the move to drive the quote up.At time of payment upon seeing the inflated quote I promptly wanted to pay but the more repeatedly asked me to tip them which I felt was very uncomfortable and unprofessional.I raised my concerns with the company and was told they would contact me at 5pm that evening and have never heard from them since which was over 4 days ago.I would in my opinion not recommend these movers again and caution anyone who chooses to when receiving quotes to take them with a grain of salt as my quote was off by $200 at final bill.
We used I Move You for our most recent move and had a great experience overall. What was a bit of a complicated move with changes to our sale and purchase dates, time between selling and buying, trying to coordinate access to elevators with an entire building trying to move in at the same time, etc.. was made completely manageable with their help.Our movers, Colin and David, were extremely professional, and went way above and beyond what we expected to ensure our move went smoothly and our belongings were taken care of.We also had a great experience with their general manager, Nick, who took time out of his weekend when we had some scheduling trouble to call additional movers, and provide a solution that worked perfectly.After this experience, I would never consider using anyone else.
The team that Nick sent were top notch, Grade A, professional movers. They had impeccable manners, had good hygiene, were very careful with our belongings, and even asked to use our restrooms. They barely took breaks, and there was not a moment of slacking. They wrapped our furniture, they didn't lose any screws, nut or bolts. The one mover who was taking things apart and reassembling was a wizard with our Italian glass dining table and studio desk. This team made our move so stress free, it was shockingly surreal. Cindy in the office was sweet and a breeze to communicate with. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company, and I have moved with them 3 times now. It can’t say enough about the great service provided by I Move You!The gents (Tim and Jack) were professional, accommodating, super efficient and courteous.They even went above and beyond to help my sofa delivery guys move a new (and heavy) couch into my place.And on top of that, Jack even helped me to fix my garage door that was working properly.They asked lots of questions, confirmed things with me as to where items needed to go, and were very careful moving things into my place.Probably one of the best, if not best moving experience I have has (and I’ve moved a lot in my life).Thank you Cindy, Nick, Tim and Jack for your wonderful service! I moved with “I Move You” 2 weeks ago. I had lots of questions and Nick, the GM patiently answered all of them. The biggest life saver was receiving 40 heavy duty large packing crates at no charge.They do require a deposit for each crate up front but that was refunded when the movers picked them up again a week + later.I paid for the delivery/ pickup but it was well worth it. I am a senior and not able to pick up crates myself.The crates made the move easy because they pack a lot and the contents are well protected. Nothing whatsoever was broken.The move itself was very satisfactory: the 2 men were punctual and very respectful of the furniture and the Strata rules in my building. I also appreciated the friendliness of these two and, boy, did they handle everything with professional ease. There was some walking involved because the area had a lot of construction going on.I highly recommend this moving company, especially for seniors, because this business will take good care of you!
