Had to wait over an hour for a truck and the truck that was assigned to us didn't have a loading ramp. We weren't allowed to use the loading docks and the truck yard wouldn't provide a fork lift to help us. We cancelled and will now need to make other arrangements that will include the cost of another month of storage at $199 plus another flight to California. It was a stressful day. I don't like posting negative reviews but this was worth mentioning because U-Pack told me they were aware of the ramp situation but no one informed us. The prepack info that was sent to us showed how to correctly transport items up and down the truck's ramp. It never occurred to us that a ramp may not be available. Not only is this an unsafe situation, but had we known, we would have made other arrangements.
Found Upack via a Pinterest post from a blog. They raved about the program as being the cheapest and easiest. After getting quotes from several moving companies for a move cross country, Pods and Uhaul included. Upack's quote was so straight forward and included everything in the price - it was almost 8k less than Pods.It was super easy to use - from the quote, to delivery, to packing, to pick up, destination delivery and then pick up. Every staff member I ever spoke with was also very kind and professional - drivers, dispatchers and coordinators.Should we ever move across country again I will definitely be using Upack!We packed the truck ourselves...a paid person might have made it look better! haha
