Protect Yourself and Read this Review: I hate being wronged by a business, so I have reported them to every possible agency. While I will never see a penny for the damaged they caused, I want to make sure that others avoid making the mistake of hiring this company.A Senior Consumer Service Analyst at the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services stated: "As for this business, I cannot even find their license, so there is already an investigation going into that as well."While I had a positive experience with this company two years ago, they are not the same company. Don't go by old reviews, since in my experience it sounds like there MAY have been an ownership change.*Another Updated: I just heard back from The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which regulates movers in Florida. They informed me that they did not hear back from the business. Hopefully they will fine or shut them down, since they should not be allowed to do continue damaging property and not be held accountable. I now noticed all the other negative reviews that are similar to my experience.*Update: I contacted the BBB of West Florida to try to resolve this issue, but Southern Cross has not even responded to them. I will now look at additional resources that can assist me in fixing the furniture they damaged.*Original Post: OMG, the worst experience ever. Don't be fooled by the pictures!! Tiffany and a small disabled man showed up with a U-Haul truck way too small for our furniture. We only asked them to move the furniture, no boxes. You guessed it; everything did not fit. They pulled out of my driveway with the couch leg sticking out of the back of the truck and a garden hose holding the door down (I have a picture to prove it). My furniture was all between one to two years old and now there are so many pieces that are damaged; I'm not even sure what can be fixed. Tiffany just strung us along with all types of excuses and never even sent me a claim request. I'm now looking at my options to determine the best course of action.
Movers we’re on time finished earlier than expected movers we’re so nice and we’re extremely careful with my belongings, they also had great prices for the fact that they are amazing. which helped me with feeling at home so fast.
I used this company for a long distance move from Cape Coral, Fl to Atlanta, Ga. Everything was great. We received our belongings timely and the movers were very polite. Would definitely recommend.
Buyer beware. I can't give them zero stars, or I would. We used them to move from Port Charlotte to Punta Gorda. A short trip and should be an easy move, right? We sustained quite a bit of damage and we can't even get a phone call back to discuss. They just ignore us. See the attached pictures. There are more pictures, but you get the idea. Do yourself a favor and find a better outfit.
Where do I even begin? We used Southern Cross Moving to pack and move us since we have a six week old newborn. The movers didn’t show up until 10:20am when we were specifically told they’d be there at 9:00am. We didn’t receive a courtesy call, so we had to call the company to ask where the movers were the day of our moving day. Then, our movers told us we didn’t have to stay and that most people don’t while they pack up the house so we could head to our new house, so we did. As we were unpacking, we noticed missing items…16 to be exact. Curtains were left up, they threw away our bathroom garbage can in our kitchen garbage can, picture frames still hanging up, shelves were left on the floor, vacuums were left, plants left were behind and the list goes on and on. I had to make a trip back to our old place to move the remaining items to our new house. When I reached out to the owner, Greg, he agreed upon giving us a partial refund since the job we paid his team to do was not completed. He stopped communicating with us for days then sent us a very unprofessional response back on multiple occasions. I’ve never worked with someone so disrespectful towards paying customers before in my life. We still, to this day, have not received our promised and agreed upon partial refund. I HIGHLY encourage you to look elsewhere for a moving company!!Update after the owners response: I sent him pictures of all 16 items and can provide them on here for your reference. I don’t appreciate being spoken to that way as I’m a paying customer, exactly why I would never recommend you to anybody for moving! I have never received any statement saying you’re going to send us a check, I don’t appreciate being lied to. Especially to make yourself look good on a public review for them. You’ve also been reported to the Better Business Bureau in hopes no one experiences what my husband and I have!
