Let me start off this review by saying that I contacted Armstrong for the local unloading of a POD because my husband’s company contracted with them for a relocation move from Germany last fall. The crew that unloaded our belongings from Germany did a wonderful job from start to finish. That is why I called the company when we needed a crew to unload our POD for a local move. While the experience started off fine, it was nothing like our first experience with the company.I placed a phone call to Armstrong for the local unloading and received a competitive quote, which we agreed to. I requested 4 Movers because we have some heavy antique furniture and was told that that would be the number of the crew provided, and that I would also pay for one hour of travel. All of this was agreeable. This information was contained in a written quote.Upon confirming the move date, another person with the company provided me documents to sign with a quote that was much higher than the initial quote and only referenced 3 Movers. I contacted the person I initially spoke with at the company about this and was told that somehow the initial quote did not contain the 4th mover, although the written initial quote specifically listed 4 movers. Upon questioning the higher quote, I was provided a third quote, which was more than the initial quote but less than the second quote. I never really understood the reasons for the three different prices, but we needed the POD unloaded so I agreed to the third quote. The crew that showed up was nothing like the initial crew that we had from Armstrong for our relocation move. They met us at the door with big drinks in hand, not looking exactly like they were ready to work. We were required to pay for three hours of labor. After an initial walk-through of the house, the lead crew member spent the next 10 minutes or so on the phone. He did not tell me why he left the area to make the phone call and I do not know what the call was about. But while he was on the phone call the other three crew members did very little work. They mostly stood around as if waiting for instructions from their head crew member, who was off on the telephone. In addition, we had requested pads to protect the doorways and floors in our house. We have a very narrow entrance to our front door, and it is brick on both sides. We had also just had hardwood floors installed in parts of the house and wanted to make sure that the flooring remained undamaged. I received confirmation from both of the representatives of Armstrong that I dealt with, and both assured me, on more than one occasion, that both door and floor protection would be provided. When the moving crew showed up, they had none of these. Luckily, I had anticipated an issue like this, so my husband had put floor protection down throughout the house. The crew did unload our POD, but there was a lot of downtime with at least one person just kind of standing around. Almost as if when they did not have specific directions from their lead crew member, they did not know what to do. They finished about 30 minutes short of the three hours(in addition to the initial 15 minutes or so when they did not do much while their lead crew member was on the phone) for which we had paid. So we did ask them to do some other things like fold moving blankets and unwrap furniture, which they did. But they would have been happy to have left early and would not have done this additional work without our specific request. If we could have had an experience like our initial experience with Armstrong on our relocation move, I would use the company again. But after our recent local move, I would not choose them. This is an edit to my original review. The response by the company was really a “Non-response“. It shows a true lack of concern for customer satisfaction
As always, the team at Armstrong Relocation delivered 5 star service yet again. I've used them for my personal home, real estate corporate relocation clients, office move across town, and now an inner-office move that resembled a crazy flight pattern. I'm convinced there isn't a better company for local and nation moves. They're communication is excellent, scheduling was a breeze, and they offered no-nonsense pricing - worth every penny. Their crews show up on time, they're experienced, professional, kind, and thorough. If having the job done right is important to you, trust the professionals at Armstrong Relocation.
I would strongly recommend The Armstrong Company to anyone considering hiring a packing and/or moving service. They were an absolute wonder to work with from start to finish. They were so friendly and easy to communicate with that there were honestly no issues at all during the packing, the move or the unloading. When we ended up needing more storage units than we originally had, they even went with us to the office to help decide what other size units we needed to get. No extra charge for the "above and beyond" services the actual moving crew performed, and they did a lot. I cannot say enough positive things about The Armstrong Company. I WILL be a repeat customer as we will be moving again in just a few months. If I could give them a 10 ?? review, I would.
I had a fantastic experience with Armstrong Relocation during my move from Huntsville to Georgia. The movers showed up on time in both locations and they were incredibly quick and efficient, and I was impressed with how carefully they handled all my belongings. I highly recommend Armstrong Relocation to anyone in need of a trustworthy and skilled moving company. Thank you for making my move a smooth and successful experience!
Armstrong Relocation just completed a job for our company a few days ago. We had a fair amount of office furniture to move from the second floor to the first as well as some old furniture that needed to be disposed of properly. The movers showed up (3 of them) promptly at 8:00am. They were hard working, professional and courteous. They were able to get the job done sooner than expected which saved my company money. I would not hesitate to recommend the Armstrong team to help with your next move. I'm very happy with the service they provided.
