Critical feedback commonly mentions scheduling changes, late arrivals, and challenges with heavier items or full-house moves, with a few reports of damage and slower-than-expected pace. Customers suggest confirming truck size, crew capability, and timing in detail ahead of move day.
I recently hired cruise movers for a local move, and unfortunately, while the movers themselves were kind and hardworking, the experience overall was frustrating, unprofessional, and ultimately more stressful than it needed to be.The move was scheduled between 1–3 PM. At exactly 1 PM, the owner (Rob) called me asking to reschedule for the following day — something he admitted he had known might be necessary that morning but failed to inform me about until the last minute. When I said that wasn’t possible, he told me they’d arrive at 4 PM instead — and that they’d be using a smaller vehicle that would require multiple trips, but that I would not be charged for the extra travel time.Spoiler: they didn’t arrive until 6 PM — two hours after the rescheduled time and 3–5 hours after the original window. When the movers did show up, it became clear that one of them wasn’t physically able to assist with the move. A third worker was called in — not at my request — and this ended up being used against me in the final pricing. Despite being told (both by Rob and in person) that the rate was $135/hr for two movers, I was later hit with “driving charges” and a strangely worded "discount" that actually just brought me back to the originally quoted rate. The breakdown from Rob reads like this:“Let me know if this is fair move is 3 hours 2 man rate 135 =405 fuel20.25l gst21.45=466.70 ill drop the 66.7 plus take 50 more ofg = 350 plus u get the extra man free minus 150 deposit balance 200$ fair?”I ended up paying $350 (plus tip for the movers) for what was effectively two hours of moving time and two trips — despite all the promises about waived charges. To be fair: the actual movers were excellent. If I could work with just them again, I would in a heartbeat. But the management was shady, unaccountable, and clearly more interested in upselling and damage control than in providing a professional service.Bottom line: If you value punctuality, honesty, and straightforward pricing, I cannot recommend this company. Honestly, setting your stuff on fire and starting over might be less stressful
If you're looking for people to move small boxes to an apartment, sure. If you're looking for people to move a full house including heavy furniture, absolutely not. Unfortunately it appears they hire inexperienced and unfit persons. It is dangerous for the movers. We had to assist them with moving items, they damaged furniture, it was a horrible experience. We moved from out of province and were unsure of reputable movers to use, others were booked up.
I would definitely NOT recommend!Moving my 88 year old mother in law!On first hand they were 2 hours late. My 88 year old mother in law and I packed up 20 boxes in that time while we were waiting for them to show up.It took 3 of them 3 hours to pack up 1 kitchen, a few small items from the living room and load the 20 boxes that my mother in law and I packed for them.Rob called to say they would be about 15 more minutes to when they'd be leaving and they left before that and just left a bill on a chair with no instruction. He texted after and wanted payment right away. I had left the house already where the bill was and told him I would e-transfer in the morning.Morning came and again they were an hour late. Said they hadn't received payment yet and that workers (2 different workers) won't show up until payment was made. He said the workers shouldn't be as long today as there was nothing to pack when there was still a full bathroom, linen closet, 2 dresser(which they didn't pack up but moved with items still in the drawers) and 3 full closets. The 2 inexperienced workers showed up and I had to instruct them on how to back up their truck to the trailer. They proceeded to packing up the rest of the house and we went to my mother in laws new place of residence. The building my mother in law was moving into would not allow us to block the doors open and we were unable to block the elevator so my husband stayed downstairs the whole move and manned the door and elevator for them and the 1 mover said he had to call Rob to let him know it was going to take longer even though my husband was manning the door and elevator for them the whole time.It came to the last load and the 1 mover had his cart stacked high and a box had fallen off the cart. There was no mention of this to us and we paid the bill and they left.We unpacked some items the first day and then proceeded to unpack some the next day and discovered a box that was completely broken(moms canister set and a few other items) so I contacted Rob and asked what could be done to replace these items that broke. He said he'd check into it and responded that he could cover a maximum of $50 so I agreed and sent him my email to e-transfer me. This was on the Saturday May 10 approximately noon and it is now Monday with no response and no e-transfer.If this is how they want to treat our parents....I would definitely NOT recommend them to move anyone
Do your research! Do not recommend.(Move from locker to home)Rob was very good in responding and accommodating until day before move. I confirmed 1 week before move that everything was good. 1 day prior to move he advised that original truck size requested was not available and a smaller truck would be provided. A discount would be given for extra trip. On day of move a half ton truck pulling cargo trailer showed up 45 minutes late to our locker. A 7 hour job took 10.45 hrs. I was asked to pay right away. Big mistake. Rob provided (after the fact) the hours he was charging us. I had actually overpaid by $92.00. He will not refund the difference and is now not responding to messages. Workers did their best. Only 1 had experience and tools of the trade were not evident so they had difficulty in moving some stuff. Note that move from locker was almost entirely delivered to a garage with only 1/3 going into house. A total of 3 round trips were required instead of 1.Totally unacceptable.
Cruise Movers were available on super short notice and unloaded my 10’ U-Haul in just about 30 minutes. Seriously, you won’t find better rates anywhere else. These guys were absolutely amazing Highly recommend!
