They were absolutely incredible. They helped not only pack our things but move them (to a house that has 3+ flights of stairs) and were nothing but helpful, positive, personable, and polite. A-1 Movers have now handled two moves for me and I have only good things to say about them. Curtis Sylvester, owner of the operation, is the man you want to contact to make arrangements for your move. For my first A-1 move (three years ago), Curtis sent me two thoroughly experienced men who worked beautifully together and had unlimited energy. For my more recent move (just this past week), three men (including Curtis’s own son) completed the job under Curtis’s own direction and supervision. Both moves were completed efficiently, professionally, and with a sense of humor (despite a foot of snow and subfreezing temperatures for the second.) They carefully loaded and unloaded the truck at all three locations, and when I needed help backing up the 16-foot truck in all that snow, one of the men very politely offered his assistance and took care of it for me with ease. Then when two pieces of my furniture needed to be stacked in my storage facility, risking damage to the finish, Cutis gave me one of his own moving blankets for their permanent protection. I view it as a positive that A-1 provides manpower only, no trucks, so I can shop around for the best truck rental rate. And I appreciated that Curtis made his team’s excellent work available to me at the same price as last time. Based on my complete satisfaction in both experiences, I will contact A-1 Movers for all my future moves.
Move date1/13/26Excellent/stressfree experience!Curtis (owner) on original contact explained how everything worked. You provide the truck, they usually do a lot of business with local Swansea U-Haul. He provides the workers/equipment and you pay an hourly fee.I received a courtesy call the night before reviewing all the details/costs.On the day of move, showed up on time and ready to get to work. Everything was handled with care, covered with blanket and then shrink wrap for extra protection. Any glass was padded, covered with cardboard & then shrink wrap. No scratches, damage to anything including newly painted walls. The workers had a great knowledge of packing a truck and how to munipulate big items. They worked extremely hard, no slackers!I recommend them for any of your moving needs. Swansea is lucky to have a small, honest, hardworking local company.Jack D
