Recent feedback highlights strong communication from move coordinators and attentive unloading crews. Positive reviews mention professional packing and items arriving in good condition. Some critical reviews cite scheduling delays, under-staffed pack days, and disputes over weight estimates and split deliveries. Overall sentiment reflects mixed experiences that vary by crew and move complexity.

What was supposed to be 1day to pack and another to load, ended up being 3 days to pack (with me helping to pack and load, even though I paid for full service….) because they didn’t send enough people. Also, one of the packers apparently had a protection order against the driver that dispatch chose, further limiting labor availability. I think my favorite part was when they tried to update their binding quote to add 2000 pounds to the shipment partway through loading things. We got the job done eventually, but I would not recommend them to anyone.

I moved from Virginia to North Carolina in July. They loaded the truck on a hot and humid day. Over 100°. They worked tirelessly, even as I continued to suggest they take more breaks. The furniture was unloaded a couple days later and again I was impressed with their professionalism. Absolutely, no problem with the move. Everything arrived just as it left. I highly recommend them.

I used Allied Van Lines for my recent move based on a great corporate relocation experience I had with them in 2018. Unfortunately, this move was a completely different story.

The positives: The person who gave me the quote was helpful and professional. My move coordinator was organized and responsive throughout the process. The crew that unloaded my belongings in Florida did a great job—they were efficient, careful, and respectful. Everyone I spoke with at the office was empathetic and professional and clearly wanted to make the process go smoothly.

Unfortunately, the driver and the Virginia loading crew did not reflect that same level of professionalism. The driver began complaining to me as soon as we met, saying the move was too large and that he wouldn’t make money on it—something that should have been addressed with his employer, not with the customer. When I told him I was buying pizza for the Virginia crew, he sarcastically asked why I was offering such a cheap meal. That kind of attitude is unacceptable.

The Virginia loading crew was careless and left my home in poor condition. They scattered trash inside and outside the house and caused visible damage to walls and the garage stairs by hitting them with heavy items. Most frustrating, they disconnected my washing machine and left behind an obvious leak without saying a word. I didn’t discover it until the next day, after it caused drywall damage. Since all my tools were packed, I had to buy new ones just to fix the issue.

I expected better from Allied. While the office staff and Florida team were great, the lack of professionalism from the driver and Virginia loading crew made this a stressful and disappointing experience. Based on that, I would hesitate to use Allied again.

Our move from VA to TX began on June 4, 2025 when Dunmar showed up to pack our home. On June 5 the Allied driver (Patrick) showed up to pickup the load, the issue began when we were notified that his truck was already half full. This was not discussed until after the loading began. This resulted in our load shipping in 2 deliveries, one that we received June 10 and we have to receive the second load, today is June 23. We paid $24K for our home and car to be packed and moved. This experience gets worse by the day. Dunmar has our second load in VA still and I only have communication when I call to get the status. Allied did not load the truck by room so we have no silverware but we have pots and pans, we have partial dish sets. We have no headboard or mattresses for 2 of our beds. The two twin mattresses that arrived were wet and dirty from being tied to the back of the Allied truck. As we unpack the first load, we a damaged 75” TV, broken picture frames, damaged art, a damaged ottoman, it just does not stop. I am leaving out so much that happened on the packing and loading day, this has upset my husband and myself more than words can say. I chose Dunmar and Allied based off of reviews and the big name. No one from Dunmar or Allied has reached out to try and resolve or compensate for all of the inconvenience. The damage submission will be submitted once after we have received our total shipment. This will be a lengthy list.
Please read this review carefully and make wise choices when choosing who will take care of your valuables, memories and leave you with peace of mind.

Had a great experience. Shawn Pinion came out to survey our home and explained the whole process very thoroughly, and Sharika kept us updated throughout the process. The packers/loaders did a great job carefully wrapping and packing our home. The driver did a good job keeping us updated regarding the specific delivery date. The driver and unloader carefully got all of our items from the truck into our storage unit upon delivery. Everything was delivered within the delivery window, although the driver could have delivered even earlier had that been communicated to me beforehand.

Overall, very good experience with straight forward pricing and polite/professional personnel.
