A very recent move from California to Wisconsin had many variables least of which were weather conditions. Yet if needed, I would not hesitate to hire U-Pack. They contributed to making the experience as smooth and organized as possible. Great communication and competency were ever present with a light hearted touch to help ease the process. With gratitude for serving us.
I went with U-Pack because they had a better price than PODs. We had our relocube stored at a facility instead of delivered to our new address, and it arrived promptly. Minus one star because after calling to confirm that we would be unloading on x date, upon arrival, our cube had somehow ended up 2 hours away. Staff seemed confused when they couldn't find it at the yard it was supposed to arrive at. Luckily, we had an air tag on it and told them where it was. They identified that it had, for whatever reason, ended up on someone's truck. That person happened to be coming back our way, but we did have to wait for about 1.5 hour and weren't really apologized to nor compensated for the inconvenience. I recommend putting an air tag on any moving service you use! Can really come in handy. Otherwise, I appreciated their flexibility. We unloaded on 3 separate trips and it was no big deal.
The move was a lot less expensive than Pods (have experienced both now). I was communicated well about the progress of the container arrival. The delivery man did a great job getting the container to close to my condo, even though the truck had to be left on the street.
We have never moved using Relocubes before but it went very well. We ordered two relocubes for the contents of our 2 bedroom condo and things fit well. We made sure to pack things well as these freight trucks don't have shocks (I think). Literally nothing broke. All items arrived in great shape. Packing blankets, sturdy boxes, packing paper...all a must. We lined the bottoms with a tarp.Even though there is a large window of time for pick-up and delivery...you can still call and try to find out a narrower window. Pick-up and drop-off were timely and easy.We purchased two large locks for each of the relocubes. We would definitely use their services again and do recommend them!
I was really hesitant to use a service like this because of some of the ratings, but I had a really positive experience. I had wanted to get the Relocube instead of the trailer, but their Relocubes were out of stock in my area for the dates I needed them. The customer service assistant got me the trailer instead, though, and it tured out to be a much better deal anyway and took a lot of worry out of the equations because I would have more than enough space if I needed it and I only paid for what I used. Loading the trailer ended up taking much longer than anticipated, and they were very accomodating in extending the pick up time (I also got the trailer on a Friday and they don't pick it up on Saturdays or Sundays - so if you have a lot of stuff to load get it delivered on a Friday and you get two extra days to load it for free). We were very diligent in tying things down and wrapping furniture in moving blankets to ensure our items were safe. We also moved in the middle of winter, so we weren't too worried about water damage.I paid for the guarenteed delivery day (an extra ~300 some dollars) and it didn't get delivered on the guarenteed day due to inclimate weather. Which is one of the things they don't cover with the guarenteed delivered. They did at least refund the money I spent for the guarenteed delivery and offer to pay for any hotel rooms, air matress purchases - any purchases I had to make due to the trailer not being there on time. We didn't spend money on those things, but I did have to buy new parking permits due to the truck not being there when they said it would be and they covered th costs for that. Once it arrived, we found that nearly everything made it safely - even a 40 gallon glass fish tank that I didn't think would make it. One wooden shelf got a corner chipped off of it (one I didn't wrap in a blanket) and another cheap wooden shelf got a dent in the side (that I put in a very bad place). Everything else made it in surprisingly great condition. All in all, I'd use UPack again if I needed to make another cross country move. Everyone I talked to, from people at UPack to truck drivers and dispachers with ABF, was friendly and helpful and my stuff made it here in one piece (morso, in good condition). I think the experience you have with UPack has a lot to do with how well you pack your own things inside of the truck or Relocubes.
